I Am Alive Review

I Am Disappointed: Beautiful at a distance, disappointing up close.

I’ve always loved the climbing aspect of the Uncharted series. Scaling larger than life structures gave the games an added sense of adventure. There was one problem though; Drake’s ascents were little more than eye candy. There was no danger, no strategy, no challenge just mash the X button until you arrive at your destination. That’s why I was so excited when I first heard about Ubisoft’s new IP, I Am Alive, which looks to meld similar Uncharted-like mechanics with the unforgiving realities of the survival horror genre. Unfortunately much like the scenery of this dystopian title, I Am Alive represents a great deal of potential that is tragically lost.

Asphalt: Injection Review

Twice the fun for thirty times the price.

Gameloft is infamous for borrowing heavily from other popular franchises. Asphalt: Injection is no exception; it steals from other arcade racers like Need For Speed and Burnout. While some familiarity can be a good thing, there is little good in Asphalt: Injection.

Armored Core V Preview

Another retooling of the Armored Core franchise might have enough new ideas to draw in players who have resisted all of these years.

Stunning animations and gorgeous art design make this 2D platformer a must see for all gamers. The visuals aren’t the only trick up up Ubisoft’s sleeve though. The game’s top-notch controls and level design will assure you that the flashy visuals are merely the icing on a gameplay-focused cake.

Some Games Unplayable During Ubisoft Server Migration

Console users won't be affected, but PC gamers will feel the pain.

Video games have become increasingly reliant on a steady internet connection over the years.  Whether it’s through online multiplayer, player authentication, or DRM, players are constantly connecting their PCs and consoles to the web in order to play.  This practice has become an accepted part of gaming, but Ubisoft is about to remind us that having to be online at all times can have its issues.
