Game Informer Reveals South Park: The Game

A full scale RPG from THQ and Obsidian is on the way.

South Park has had a storied history in gaming. Back on the N64, PlayStation, and PC, Iguana Entertainment brought fans a first person shooter that carried some of the charm that made the show a hit. Later, it was followed by a racing game, South Park Rally, and a trivia game, Chef's Luv Shack. After that, the IP went dormant until Let's Go Tower Defense Play on XBLA, which is still to be followed by a four player, co-op platformer. While these small downloadable games are making a splash with players, they pale in comparison to what THQ and Obsidian have announced to be bringing to the market.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Review

Never laugh at live dragons.

The Elder Scrolls series is rightly famous for defining what an open world game should be, and Skyrim can arguably be considered the most worthy in the lineage. As the title suggests, the game takes place in Tamriel’s northern most province, a rocky and inhospitable land that is home to the Viking-like Nords. The assassination of the High King of Skyrim has precipitated the next prophecy found in the Elder Scrolls foretelling the return of dragons and the destruction of the land unless a destined champion can fight them off. Guess who you play as?

Dead Island Review

This game craves brains because it clearly has none.

Dead Island is a game in the midst of an identity crisis.  It’s not sure if it wants to be Dead Rising 2 with its customizable weapons and biting humor, Left 4 Dead with its multiplayer focused gameplay, or Borderlands with its RPG elements and zombies that bleed numbers.  Dead Island wants to be all of these things and in trying to do so fails to do anything well, the result of which is an overly flawed experience that just months ago looked so promising.

Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten Review

Its charm is undeniable, but is this complicated tactical RPG worth your time?

Just so I'm not pulling any punches, Disgaea 4 is the first game in the series I've actually played. While it has taken four iterations for me to take notice, it's clear to me why Disgaea has become a fan favorite and is often mentioned amongst the best games on the PlayStation 2 and 3. This unique flavor of tactical RPG gameplay comes complete with an engrossing world, characters, and a story that's rife with social commentary.
