Nintendo Land Preview

AKA Nintendo Circus, depending on who you ask

Like many of you out there, I wasn’t terribly impressed by Nintendo’s press conference at this year’s E3. One of the things they touted as being a major showpiece was a game called Nintendo Land. Much like Wii Sports, the aim of this title is to introduce players to a new controller--in this case the Wii U GamePad--through a virtual theme park bursting with references to classic Nintendo franchises. The Wonderful 101 Preview

Newsflash: Citizens Become Super Heroes and Morph together to Form Giant Weapons Against Evil

Project P-100 was Nintendo's best kept secret at E3 2012. It was so well kept, in fact, that it wasn't even shown at the Nintendo press conference. One would think that an exclusive game designed by hotshot Japanese developer Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) would be something that Nintendo would want to shout about, but instead the game got a quiet reveal on Spike TV after the press conference.

Wii U GamePad Sports Short Battery Life

Just when you get into your groove, the controller powers down. Update: Pitchforks down, everyone: it charges while you play.

After catching a glimpse of the Wii U's potential at Nintendo’s conference, some of the excitement is tempered by the raw facts on battery life. According to official figures from Nintendo, the Wii U Gamepad will only last for 3-5 hours on battery charge. Since most of its functionality shown at E3 involves players moving it in multiple directions and around the room, it may be tough to charge and play with the controller at the same time.
