NCAA Football 12 Review

Despite the small changes, NCAA '12 continues its longstanding legacy of great college football simulation.

NCAA '12 brings improved presentation, similar gameplay, and a few new features to the table this year. While NCAA '12 is a great football game, it doesn't completely outdo last year's NCAA '11.

Virtua Tennis 4 Review

Four iterations deep and the Virtua Tennis series is still going strong.

Virtua Tennis has been going strong at this point for over a decade. Having played every game in the series, it’s clear that the gameplay has not evolved much, but that’s because the fundamentals that were introduced in the first game were so solid they aren’t in need of much more than slight tweaks. Instead, Sega has continued to make the game more fully-featured to help draw in new players. Virtua Tennis 4 is impressive in scope, offering a huge variety of mini-games within the main quest, a solid selection of real life tennis superstars, and a motion control centric mode that works surprisingly well with the PlayStation Move controller.

DualPenSports Review

The name makes me think shovelware garbage, but the content is anything but.

Most similar to the Wii Sports games, particularly in its implementation and polish, DualPenSports features a wholly unique control scheme that works surprisingly well. In the seven sports, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Skiing, Boxing, Archery, and Paragliding, all actions are broken down into simple touch screen swipes.

PixlTalk Episode 33: Mulligan

After a failed attempt at podcasting last night, Nick and Chessa take a mulligan and create a new version of the latest issue of PixlTalk.

Last night's podcast recording was doomed before it even began. After an hour and a half of complete and utter chaos, we were left with an unsalvageable mess that had to be scrapped as the official 33rd episode of PixlTalk. Instead, Nick and Chessa take a calm, rested, and sober approach for a much more organized and discussion-oriented recording.

Portal 2 Review

It's bigger and better than the first with the best puzzle based co-op experience ever.

When Portal released back in 2007, it broke the standard conventions of puzzle gaming and revolutionized the genre. With its unrivaled puzzle gameplay and unexpected thrilling story-based foundation, Portal was more than deserving of critical acclaim. So, with all the hype that surrounded Portal, does Portal 2 live up to those same standards and expectations? Absolutely. In every gameplay, story, and environmental aspect, Portal 2 blows its predecessor out of the water. The puzzles are more intricate, the story is gripping, the environments are intriguing, GLaDOS is better than ever, and the co-op quest is one of the best, if not the best, for any game on any system.

Fight Night Champion Review

Lace up your gloves, the latest round of Fight Night throws a solid hook.

I have been an avid fan of the Fight Night series since it was released back on the Xbox seven years ago. Fight Night Champion is the latest in the long running series and it without question lived up to my expectations, acting as a successful follow up to Fight Night Round 4.

Portal Review Rewind

This game was a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS. It's hard not to overstate my satisfaction.

Back nearly four years ago, if you had asked me about Portal, I would have merely shrugged. It wasn’t that the game concept didn’t seem interesting, it was really the fact that I had two generations worth of games to catch up on and, more importantly, it was on the computer.
