How did things go for a certain Jason Ross looking to buy a 3DS at a midnight launch?
As with the Kinect launch I decided I'd check out a few different areas close to midnight for the big event. This time though, I preordered from GameStop earlier in the week. I had a plan – or so I thought.
SEGA is bananas for not just making Super Monkey Kart.
SEGA's first 3DS offering is really Super Monkey Ball (puzzle mode), Super Monkey Kart, and Super Monkey Fight in one package. Three different game modes with all completely new, unique content seems like a great idea on the surface. Does the concept pan out? The answer is a resounding, “Eh, it works a little bit.” While the main Monkey Ball game is there, along with 80 traditional stages, there are a few issues with stage design and my experiences in Monkey Fight were entirely forgettable. Monkey Kart shocked me as it is a full-on kart racer – but lacks enough content for a standalone purchase.
While we weren't lucky enough to receive a 3DS ahead of launch, we are lucky enough to experience the midnight launch lines to get our systems.

Fans of the fighting genre who've played any version of Street Fighter IV will feel at home with the latest version on the 3DS. As the title is “Super,” veterans of the PS3 and 360 release of Super Street Fighter IV should be very familiar with the game, while those who've only played the original SFIV will find an almost entirely new title.
That's right. This issue focuses on other news.

While the most notable franchise, Ice Climber, only gets a brief mention toward the end, several different franchises and individual games are given shout-outs and receive speculation.

In this latest entry of the Super Monkey Ball franchise, players can expect to see classic puzzle stages, Monkey Kart, and the all-new Monkey Fight. Sorry fans of past monkey minigames, you'll have to look elsewhere. There aren't any other games like Monkey Target, Pool, or Bowling, but the newest Super Monkey Ball title will come with some other improvements, like 3D effects and new playable Monkeys.

Pokemon Chronicler
This week on the Wonderbread Chronicles, Pkmn Trainer Jason defeats the third and fourth gym leader. And catches a Sandile. Sandile, for those not in the know, is a Ground/Dark baby Crocodile. He's the hippest Pokemon around, and joins Pkmn Trainer Jason's team.
