All aboard at speculation station it’s time to see what’s ahead for this year’s E3.
You ever feel like part of you was missing? Well that’s how we felt here at PixlTalk without our cohort Jesse ‘the Jammer’ Miller, but it’s all good now … because he’s back! Alright maybe we’re being a bit dramatic, but it’s good to have him back with the Hell Block Heroes. He couldn’t have picked a better time; its pre E3 week and you know what that means – strap in everyone – we’re heading to speculation station!
I'm playing as Larry Bird for that 3-point contest.
2K Sports has produced the definitive official NBA simulation games for the past couple of years. Beginning their domination with their Jordan-centric NBA 2K11, they expanded upon the formula a year later with an entry that included a plethora of NBA legends. Jordan even shared cover duties with Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.
Vita and 3DS reboots seemingly come out of nowhere.
The Spy Hunter franchise holds a special place in many an old-fogie-gamer’s heart. The car/motorcycle/boat combat arcade game was known for being incredibly difficult and incredibly fun. With a modern reboot happening in 2001 and a feature film that at one point had Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson slotted to star going nowhere, no one would blame you if you figured you’d seen the last of the iconic franchise.
What else are they gonna dip all those chips in?
DrinkBox Studios turned a few heads at PAX East with their reveal of Guacamelee!, “Mexican themed co-op-multiplayer dimensions-swapping Metroid-vania beat-em-up platformer” starring a “down on his luck Mexican anmed Juan Aguacate.” Just from that sentence alone, you can see why people were intrigued by this bizarre, yet beautiful game. At least someone from Sony noticed enough to make Guacamelee! a PSN exclusive for both the PlayStation 3 and the Vita as part of Sony’s PlayStation Pub Fund Program.
Insomniac celebrates the duo's 10th Anniversary with a new downloadable only game.
We all knew that the folks at Insomniac Games were preparing something for Ratchet and Clank’s 10th anniversary this fall, but there weren’t many who were expecting a brand new entry in the popular series. Well, that’s exactly what we’ll be getting this fall with Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault.
It's time to pull out the big guns again.
You may not have known that you wanted it, but Bethesda has just announced the aptly titled Doom 3 BFG Edition. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the BFG Edition will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime this fall and as you would expect, it packs a wallop.
Doom 3 gets a remaster for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 that includes seven all new levels called "The Lost Mission."
Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate is apparently just one game.
It seems there was something to those Castlevania rumors we reported on last week. Not satisfied with an E3 reveal alone, Nintendo went ahead and made the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate a cover story for their publication Nintendo Power as well.
They must open their Christmas presents early too.
UPDATE: Spike TV and GameTrailers.com will be carrying the event, via an exclusive deal with Konami. "Select elements" of the show will be broadcast on Spike TV at 1am, this Thursday, May 31st. This will be followed by the entire Pre-E3 show going up on GameTrailers.com at 1:30am the same night/morning.
