My Week's End

Just wanted to post a pic of all the music and a game I got this week. Now that my game list is settled for the time being, I'm now obsessing over music and collecting hard, but within a budget. Pictured below is a lot of vinyl, a CD, and a 3DS game. Not pictured are the five CD albums I got from the library. Most of this music is filling my 1969 Other playlist. I realized, after seeing lots of great albums not described as either prog rock or metal, that I needed another category so I could listen to them too. This is my first week haul and it was big. I'll list 'em all after the pic.

              blah

The vinyl are:

Donovan - Barabajagal
Humble Pie - Rock On
Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes
Mott The Hoople - Mott
Vanilla Fudge - Vanilla Fudge
Steve Millar Band - Brave New World
Vanilla Fudge - Rock & Roll

CDs (both shown and not shown):

Neil Young - Neil Young
Fleetwood Mac - Then Play On
Neil Young - Everybody Knows this is Nowhere
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River
Miles Davis - In a Silent Way
Fairport Convention - Liege & Lief

Now the games. I picked up Puzzle & Dragons Z/Super Mario Bros Edition on Friday when it was released. I've only just started it. The music, a few minutes into P&D Z, is playing while I write this.

During the week I quit Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages because I got stuck in Wing Dungeon 2. I did everything in there and I was still one key short. Maybe I opened the wrong door with the last key, I don't know, but I got kind of fed up with it.

Then I went back to Fantasy Life to collect some street pass gifts and do some more fishing. I didn't catch an Oort Fish though darn it (Matt knows what I'm talking about). I started the next main quest line and stopped right before leaving to go to the second major location in the game (I forget the name of it at the moment).

Then I decided it was time to play my most recent game in my collection for 3DS and that was Etrian Mystery Dungeon. I restarted the game to relearn the mechanics and beat the first dungeon and bult a fort. That was several nights of playing before Friday when I had a full cache of Miis for the Mii Plaza games and played that. Now I have Puzzle & Dragons and will be playing that until I get my TV situation at home fixed so I can work on my actual game list, which, after Oracle of Seasons, is all console games.

Phew. That's a lot of shuffling around. At least I was putting the time in. My new schedule has me going to bed earlier and not doing any PC stuff, just gaming (I'm breaking the rule tonight to do this blog). Moving my PC activities to the daytime before work really helps me get to bed earlier. Then I'm trying to get to the gym in the morning. Not very much luck of that yet, only about once a week, but I'm still recovering from my CO poisoning from last year. I feel almost fine now. I'm starting to sleep better. More workouts will be happening soon.

Anyway, y'all better get back to gaming Pixlbits. Sunday doesn't last forever. I'll be catching up to you when I get up at the crack of eleven. See ya on the consoles.

I remember getting fed up in Oracle of Ages the first time I played it.  I don't remember why, or where I was, but I scoured the map and still couldn't figure out what to do.  Your key issue just reminds me of A Link to the Past.  In the third dungeon on in the dark world, there is a door that you don't need to waste a key on.  Which means that when you get to the segregated area that has the boss, you have an extra key and can just run across the bridge to the boss, instead of having to find the final key.

The other things is that I haven't really touched my 3DS since Shover Knight came out last year.  i don't know what is wrong with me, outside of the fact that I prefer Vita.  My point is that all the games you talked about interest me...  I just can't seem to be bothered to pull out my 3DS.  Maybe it's the fact that it is an XL and I think it's too big.  Kinda wish the New 3DS came over here with its slightly larger screen, but regular form factor.

I even looked up a walkthrough and then found the hidden chest that has the level map in it and still couldn't figure out what I'd missed.

I do like the bigger screen on the XL but it is bulky for a handheld. It just barely fits in my pocket.

Vanilla Fudge?  Cute cover.

How's the new record player treating you?

I want to play Etrian Mystery Dungeon. Kind of forgot about it.

The Vanilla Fudge cover has a solarized photo of what may be a nude woman, it's hard to tell with that effect on it.

I finally figured out a table solution for it so I can hook it up next to my laptop. Then, I hope, the software issue won't become an issue. I also hope my microphone jack on my laptop is a stereo one, otherwise I'll have to get an adapter. I've been told mic jacks are usually in stereo on laptops though.

I really love the design used from the Etrian Odessy games. The UI is very easy to use and attractive to boot.

I got the new Puzzle & Dragons game, too.  I'm not too good at it yet.

I played a little bit of Z and then tonight I'm trying Super Mario Bros Ed. . SMBE is a little simpler but basically the same. I think I'll stay with SMBE for a while before tackling Z.

I've always wanted to play those Zelda Oracles games.

Ages is darn good. I just don't know what I did wrong there. I'll replay the game from the beginning sometime and see if I catch the thing I missed. I can't let the Maku tree down. It wants to marry me.

Good pickups on the music! There is so much good stuff out there for a couple of bucks an album, that it makes more sense to get the physical stuff, and ripping it yourself instead of buying it digitally.

I'm digging that puzzle game. I bought it on Sunday and I've been slowly moving through the SMB game.

I feel $10 for a digital album is a bit of rip off. I can get 5.99 CDs at Barnes & Noble and my used record store sells $1 vinyl. I'm thinking about hitting some Goodwills soon too. They usually have some vinyl and CDs as well for rock bottom prices.

For some reason I didn't take to Puzzle & Dragons as much as I thought I would. I'm not sure why yet.

despite hearing this I still would like to try out that Zelda game. Once I get my HDD for my Wii U it's one of the first games I want to see if I can get. If not I'll hold off till I get a NEW 3DS XL

Oracle of Ages is really cool. I'm going to play it again sometime. I likely missed something because I was playing it in short bursts.
