I finally pulled myself away from Army of Ruin and got through all my Atari games. I packed them all up and will be digging into NES next week.

I've returned to Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime and found it amazing. I don't know what I was thinking quiting it out of confusion years agoo. I think I just wasn't paying attention to the instructions. Now I'm really enjoying it.

Army of Ruin is taking over and keeping me away from my retro plans. I have half a mind to pull the plug on my Xbox to keep me away from it but I want to finish what I can first. However, an intervention may be in order. But, I did play a few retro games in the margins.

My first task in 2026 is the Atari years, 1977-1984. The system dominated the home console wars until the Famicom in '84. Arcades were king and PCs were just beginning to explore more complex experiences but for a high price. Here's a very personal breakdown of those years. I'm sure others have different ideas of what's most notable.

I didn't get a whole lot of gaming time on the holidays, which is kind of strange really, but I don't have a family that plays all that much. I did get a few half days with MK playing Army of Ruin though, and I'm gearing up for what I want to play in 2026.

Not much else than Hogwarts Legacy actually as it has totally taken over this week, retro games suffer, but there is at least something to mention.
