Club Nintendo Item Arrives and Two New Soundtrack Albums

I got my Club Nintendo item, a 3DS cart holder, recently. I think it was about three months to get here, but that's ok. It's pretty cool, but now that I think of it, I don't have much use for it yet because I've bought all my 3DS games on day one, or in the case, so I don't have any loose carts for it yet. I'm sure though, when I start picking up used games, that the loose carts will come, and now I have somewhere to put them. It's the size of a regular 3DS game case, so it'll fit nicely with my other games. Pic below:

The outside of it is just white with some black text on it. It looks very generic and uninteresting when closed. I may have to come up with a cover for it, so I don't think it's just some empty case.

Then, today, I went hunting for music and games at Goodwill and CashConverters. I found nothing at Goodwill. At CashConverters I saw the Silent Hill HD Collection for X360 (SH2 and 3), which I didn't know existed, for $25. This was bargain hunting though, and anything over $20 is kind of a no no. I really wanted it though. I searched through the PS2 games for SH2, hoping it would be there for cheaper, but no luck there. I saw Endless Ocean for Wii, complete, but I was pretty sure I already had it. For $5, I almost got it just to be sure, but I'm glad I didn't because, when I got back, I checked, and I do have it. Then I searched the place for music and found nothing. Drats.

Well, I had to return some music to a nearby library and saw they had a little book shop. I looked through their CDs and found two soundtracks for a buck each. Soundtracks are great for discovering new bands or music styles. I got introduced to classical, rap, dubstep and many bands from soundtracks. Pic below:

These are 300: Rise of an Empire and The Man with the Iron Fists. I've seen both of these in the theater and liked them. They are not perfect movies, or classics in any way, but they were both fun and worth the price of a theater ticket. The 300: RE soundtrack is by electronica artist Junkie XL and Iron Fists is jam packed with tasty rap I've never taken a close listen to before. I hope it's as good as the Men in Black soundtrack.

And that's it for my day of slacking. It's summer, and I must be in full slack mode, going hunting for music and games every day instead of working out, or doing career stuff. What's the matter with me?

You know you have a sizeable library when you need to remember if you own a game or not :P

More than once I've pulled out my phone to check backloggery and saved myself from duplicate purchases lol.

Yea, I really do need to check now. I'm usually pretty good on remembering, but now that there's digital games, it's even harder. Backloggery has really helped me keep track of it all.

That is a cool game holder. I hope that when Nintendo replaces Club Nintendo, they have a similar program where you can get more cool stuff like that.

Funny you mention Soundtracks, I too encounted a bunch of them last week during CD Saturday/Sunday (it was Sunday this time). Soundtracks are perfect to find bands you might not have checked out, and because of a couple I found some new favorites.

Yea, I love soundtracks now. I discovered The Flaming Lips from the Spongebob movie soundtrack.

Nice, I kind of found out about them through a soundtrack too. I liked the song "Waiting for Superman" off the Superman Returns soundtrack, found out it was a cover, and bought the Flaming Lips single.
