Took a trip to Longwood Gardens today with Mark to take some photos. When we got back, I set up my PS3 and downloaded Namco Museum Vol. 4 for the game, The Return of Ishtar, the sequel to Tower of Druaga. It was $5.99. Then it was going to take almost half an hour to download, so I switched feeds to my 360 and started playing Minecraft again in Mark's created world. Well, it was 11pm and time to stop before I checked in on my download. I installed the game and booted it up just to see if there was some kind of opening scene. It looks like it will be something like a side scrolling beat 'em up with swords. Of course, I didn't have time to actually play it. This Minecraft just carries me away.
And in this Minecraft, I was working on an open mine. That is, a mine that is open to the air. I used TNT to blast large pits and then cleared it out nice and square using daylight to light my way. I would get out of the deep trench at night by building blocks under me after every vertical jump in a long narrow pillar. To get back down, I'd just chop it away one stone at a time. It became a very dangerous work site. So dangerous that Mark fell down it and killed himself on the floor right before my eyes. Items went everywhere. Oh the Stevanity!
At night, I'd go hunting creepers for more gunpowder on the surface. Turns out there are witches in this game. They throw potions at you and sometimes they are poison and usually kill you. You can only try and restore stamina and health with food and wait out the poison. Sometimes you survive it, sometimes you don't. I learned to shoot arrows really well. You don't want to get too close to witches.
And that's about it. You gotta fight those creepers, and you gotta dig those mines. It's just what one does. Doesn't one?
