I brought over to Mark's place several arcade collections I had today: Data East Arcade Classics for Wii, SNK Arcade Classic Vol. 1 for Wii, and Taito Legends vol 1 for Xbox. The Xbox game wasn't backwards compatible with 360, so I put that aside. Then I got a bug to play Culdcept Saga instead, and when I did, I realized I could update my rig shot with the new TV. Pic below:
So last gen, I know. But at least the TV is ready for current gen consoles.
I played a few more single player rounds in Culdcept Saga. I got to the point in the story where the main character regains his freedom by beating several opponents in an arena. Each round took at least a half hour. I gained a lot of new cards, redesigned my deck to be water element centered and prepared to play against Mark, who was replaying early story levels. But then it was 7pm and time for the Xbox live recap of their E3 presentations of the day.
The show had some interesting things for Xbox. I liked the backwards compatibility with 360 games feature. It's being done with software emulation, which I guess is fine. It's supposed to allow all the features in the original games. I hope that means online play for those with active servers. The added ability to take screen shots of 360 games is nice too.
The Gears of War remake looks great. Rare's unveiling of their online store (that's what it looked like) with every game they've ever made minus the Nintendo owned properties was exciting. I also liked the footage of their new game Sea of Thieves. I kept thinking MS told Rare to make them an Assassin's Creed and this was the result. Still, I like what they showed.
Then there was the new controller. I hope it is game changing like they advertise. Sure looks cool with all the modifications you can make to it. And that's about all that really opened my eyes. Halo 5's doing the Destiny thing, or MMO type thing, with their 12v12 mode. That's cool I guess. I only had a few goosbumps watching the trailers. Usually I get all worked up for a Halo game.
Then, when that was over, it was diving into Minecraft again. I made it to bedrock in my very dangerous dig site. Then I built an observation deck with a glass floor so you could see all the way to the bottom. I took an old school screen shot with my old school pocket camera.
This so called glass isn't greatly see-through.
