I miss the old days when Capcom and Konami had a presence at E3.  The year I went, we couldn't stop staring at the Sons of Liberty trailer.

The Metal Gear Solid 2 trailer, right? That shit raised the bar and made everything else look primitive. I still watch that once a year. Alot of that shit didn't make it into the final game though.

Actually, I was quite stoked by what I saw of Street Fighter V at E3. The character models are  big improvement over 4, aesthetically.

That's the one.  We kept passing by Konami's booth to check out that trailer, along with Silent Hill 2.  That was a great year.   We also got to check out Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy X before they launched.

Same, but at least it let me know that Rare Replay will keep me busy in August until MGSV dominates my life. And Fallout 4 will arrive when I should be done with that. If it's longer, means MGSV really is that awesome. If not, more Rare goodness for me.

There are some games that caught my eye at E3, but what I've read about MGSVs gameplay and the attention to detail makes them seem last gen in comparison.

Been playing the free demo they gave me for PS+ subscription. I beat the main mission in about an hour, currently completing the other ones. I have a tendency to get caught and just start shooting in these games though. The graphics look amazing, though.

I'll probably have to by the Poverty Edition on PS3, so less amazing graphics for me.

I hear MGSV is going to have a huge world and hundreds of hours of gameplay. That's kinda new isn't it?

The open world is. These games always claim to have hundreds of hours of gameplay, but I usually find that misleading. Like in Fallout 3, people could futz around for a hundred hours, but to do all the actual structured content took me 50-60.

Yea, sometimes those hours are just tons of fetch quests. I could skip a lot of that stuff. . . if I wasn't so OCD.
