I started the day with Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy. I played it on the big screen via Kirby's Dream Collection for Wii. This is a really good platformer. I really liked swallowing things and then spitting them out. You can swallow enemies to knock out other enemies and you can swallow objects that do special things when you spit them out; for example, a bomb will explode everything in it's path and a microphone will knock out everything in a room. You can even suck air to puff up like a balloon and then fly by flapping your arms. You can swim too, but you can't swallow stuff while submerged. I got into Stage 4: Bubbly Clouds when I stopped. I kept going off the clouds and getting killed. Stupid me. I'll be back to it though. Great game!

Then I bought Wolfenstein 3D on Xbox Live and played through the first episode and most of the second. I played on Bring It On difficulty, which is next to highest. I did fine until episode 2 and then started dying a lot by Nazi's hidding behind doorways and such - a nasty trick that. I moved the difficulty to Don't Hurt Me just to get a little farther and start memorizing the levels. The key to harder difficulty is just knowing which way to go and not using up too much ammo. I got tired of it after a while, but I'll be back - playing this again brought back memories.

Finally it was the beginning of Mark and I speed running Minecraft. It's kind of a made up speed run since there's no real story-line or progression in the game, but I decided it would be neat to see how long it would take us to get to the Endor Dragon on a new world. We played for four hours and had to stop for the night while we were close to discovering the location of the Stronghold. This is basically stage three of a four stage process: Stage One is finding diamonds to make a diamond pickaxe that can cut Obsidian; Stage Two is constructing the gate to the Netherworld and going there to get Blaze Rods to make Eye's of Endor; Stage Three is using the Eyes of Endor to find the Stronghold; and Stage Four is activating the gateway to the Endor Dragon and defeating it. My initial idea was we could do it in six hours. We've got two left. It's still possible if we find the Stronghold quickly and I think we're close.

Yeah, I've always liked Kirby's copy ability. I remember Wolfenstein on PC but haven't played the new ones. Good luck on your Minecraft run.

I think I'm a fan now of Kirby. I can't wait to play some of the other games in the series.

Don't just stop at Kirby's Dream Land.  His future endeavors are WAY better!

I'm eagerly awaiting those titles to come up on my year-by-year project. I'm on '93 this week now. I'll see if there's a Kirby game that year.

According to the Internet, Kirby's Adventure on NES came out in 1993.

And it's number one on my list this week. I'll get to it this weekend, I suppose, or maybe I'll hook up the old Wii right here in my home for once and play it tomorrow.

I heard that line so many times. All the blue machine gunners say it when you kill them.

I had a six year old explain Minecraft to me, and he thought I was crazy when I asked why does my house have to be so tall and why does the water not spill out if he takes out a block from his water entrance. I'll start tinkering with that game

The physics of Minecraft aren't exaclty like the real world. Don't you know that? Sheesh!Tongue Out

I ask my nephew and neice Minecraft questions every time I see them. They answer me like they have a PhD in it, which they do.

Right?! When they aren't playing Minecraft, they're studying how to play it on YouTube, or reading books about it. Its crazy but if it gets them to practice reading than go for it.

My neice and nephew went to Minecraft CAMP this summer. It was Harry Potter camp last year.

Wait, there's a Minecraft Camp? The creators of Minecraft are just printing their own money at this point. That must have been fun for the kids who attended.

My neice was the only girl there, but her brother was there too, so it wasn't too bad. She didn't mind at all. I thought that was weird though, because I thought Minecraft was pretty equally played by both boys and girls.

One of these days I'll play the Kirby games. Cary keep recommending them to me.

They're really fun. The music is catchy as all heck. I love Kirby's moves too. Gobbling up everything and spitting them out, flying, swimming - it's like me at age four or something. Ha ha!
