Yeah you've got to try more Kirby's Adventure. He has so many more moves now with the copy ability, first introduced with this game.

In keeping with playing some 1993 games this week, I played some Kirby's Adventure on Wii, and Doom and Magic 2013 on Xbox Live. Then I was going to play the game I bought Sunday, Saint's Row: Gat Out of Hell, but I was feeling a bit worn down and so slacked my way back to Minecraft. That's the short tale. You can stop there if you want, or hear the longer tale below.
Kirby's Adventure looked really great on my TV at home. I haven't had a TV set up at home for a very long time. I usually go to my firend Mark's for my gaming on weekends, and I usually don't have much time for anything more than an hour or two on my laptop at home on weekdays. Anyway, I did manage to squeeze in an hour or so on this game. It seems very similar to Kirby's Dream Land on GB, but just more of everything. I noticed Kirby could spit underwater in KA. I think I couldn't do that in KDL. Anyway, this game deserves much more time, and I hope I can get some more in soon.
At my friend Mark's on Sunday, I started off with Doom on Xbox Live. It was on sale for under $3, so I bought it and Doom II as well. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm sure I've bought this game twice now on Xbox Live. That shouldn't happen, I think. Anyway I was surprised how fun it was in co-op and then in multiplayer. Mark and I played Episode Four, the last and hardest episode, on Hurt Me Plenty difficulty (second to highest) hoping to get an achievement. We completed the level, and not without effort, but the achievement didn't unlock. I guess you have to do it solo. I tried that, and it was most frustrating. I wasn't up to it today. Then we played some multiplayer hoping to unlock the 50 and 100 kills achievements, but even though we played a good long time, and certainly had 50 kills each, the achievement didn't unlock. Strange. In any case, it was a blast, and we ran around the levels with rocket launchers and blasted each other into chunky messes. There's a reason why this game is so legendary and influential. The gameplay is fast paced and challenging. A side note: I noticed American McGee in the credits for level design. I didn't know he was with id back then.
Then I booted up Magic 2013 which, I believe, was a Games with Gold freebie sometime ago. Magic, the card game, had it's start in 1993. It's a lot of fun playing solo campaign. It plays like a RPG and you go from major challenger to minor characters, and animals, that feel like random encounters. I liked it a lot but all those stats were making my eyes water. I've been a bit worn out lately. I feel like I'm still recovering from the carbon monoxide poisoning I had last year.
Then my plan was to play the game I bought, Saint's Row: Gat Out of Hell, but the call of Minecraft was too great, and I skipped it. Maybe tomorrow.
Nintendo Voice Chat podcast there on my iPod.
I gave in to the relaxing world of Minecraft; however, it turned out to be anything but. I continued my world where I had tamed a horse. I rode it around looking for natural caves, and then explored them. I kept doing this, going farther and farther afield, to find a substantial cave. Eventaully, I went so far afield, I got lost, and then it was night, and then I was *&^%^! I'm playing on hard and there are a lot of monsters at night. I can still swing my sword while I'm riding, but barely seen skeleton archers are a *(&( *&!)#@!
When I died and lost my horse, I got depressed. So I started a new world and dug deep down like I was digging down into my sorrow. I realized I could turn off auto saves and just do a manual save whenever I wanted. That was a much better idea. I dug down until I hit a river of lava. There I found diamonds and obsidian, and I was set for The Nether. It took me four hours to get to that important moment when you have enough diamond to make a diamond pickaxe. A half-hour later, I had cut some obsidian and built The Nether Gate. In The Nether, I played fireball catch with Gasts for a while. I would catch on fire inevitablly and have to retreat back to the main world. As the night ended, I had built an enchantment table and enchanted all my armor and tools to help me in The Nether.
That be it. Monday, more gaming.
