In keeping with 1994, I played a bunch of Doom II today on Xbox Live. Fun game. I went for achievements right away since I've played it many times before. Remembering all the secrets on level 1 was interesting. After a while my memory was jogged and I got them all for an achievement. Then I was going for the one playing the whole game on next to hardest or better difficulty. Along the way I got the chainsaw kills one and tried to get the berzerk kills one on the first level you have that. Not enough enemies there to do it though. You need 20 within the very short time it's active and you're invincible. Later I found the room where you can get the kill a cyberdemon by punching. There's invincibility globes all around, so it shouldn't be too hard. I got a bit tired of playing it though and stopped.
To unwind a bit more I played Ticket to Ride with Mark and another random who popped in. I don't see many other players playing this game, so it was a rare treat to have someone else in there. Mark beat both of us though and that person didn't return for more rounds. Now I think of it, I should've sent him/her a friend request.
Then I popped in Saint's Row: Gat Out of Hell and couldn't stop playing until the night was over. My friend Mark, who was playing Goat Simulator, kept looking over and got real interested in playing it. I think I'll hunt down a second copy for him so we can play co-op. This game is really good. Totally reminds me of Crackdown but with true flying. Controls were excellent and, as I said, I couldn't stop playing and had to pry myself away at night's end. Got get them orbs. I was surprised by a cut scene. It was done in full song like an opera between Satan and his daughter Jezebel. It was really well done and very funny. Man, I'm going to be playing more of this game next week for sure.
Now I'm gonna start researching 1995 and put together my music playlist for the week and figure out which games to revisit.
