A Christmas Game for You by Me

Hey guys,

Well, I’ve been quiet on PixlBit for yet another long stint and I’m coming back with selfish motives. I really do read your blogs pretty often; it’s just normally on my phone, which doesn’t like the PixlBit comment box for some reason.

Recently, I decided to take part in the Idle Thumbs Winter Wizard Jam. It was a two week game jam with a theme of winter or winter holidays. Even though I was extremely strapped for time during the two weeks because of an intense project at work, making this game was a great release and was quite a bit of fun.

If you have a PC and are interested, go try out my game, Devil’s Snuff Box over on itch.io. It’s a mix of Arkanoid and Pong, with random level generation. There are plenty of things wrong with this rushed project and plenty of features not present. Overall, I’m happy with what I put together in a very short time, but would have like to polish a ton more. You’ll see this right away with the somewhat terrible title screen and its music… I rushed all of that just for the sake of having a place to give you instructions and the back story. Let me know what you think! Be mean if you want!

Anyway, give my game a try if you want. It is definitely free as free can be. You can also check out the other Winter Jam games, many of which are fun and/or funny.

I’ll see you guys around!

Travis!  The man, the myth, the legend!  Glad to hear you're still making games, man! I will check this one out.  Amazing you can sneak in the work on these with your busy life.

I've been listening to the Idle Thumbs podcast. I have to check out this Wizard Jam thing.

Some of the games are rife with podcast in-jokes, so you might get a kick out of them. Mine has no humor :

I'm a little late in the reply dept but thank you for sharing this. The event that you took part in sounds like fun.

No worries about being late. It was fun to make and the community is really positive and supportive.
