First Purchase and Preorder of 2016

I gave in and picked up Earth Defense Force 2 on Vita. This is the first release of this game in N.A. and it's only on VIta. I'd rather play it on a big screen, but I'll do what I can with this version. It was $30. Then I preordered Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam coming January 22 for 3DS. I can't wait for that. Here's a pic.

I've got so many ideas for which games to play this month, but I think I'm going with most recent. Which mean I'll be playing EDF 4.1 on PS4 (I got a used laptop bag at Goodwill today to carry my PS4 to my friend Mark's place) and EDF 2 on Vita. It's all EDF until Banner Saga comes to XBO on the 12th and Mario & Luigi hits on the 22nd. Wiiiii!

be careful carrying your ps4 over. Make sure you don't leave a disc inside when you do it.

Yea, I've read all about that with the Xbox. Oh so careful. I got a pretty good laptop bag. It's a little bit padded and not too big either.

I'll probably pre-order that Paper Jam game sometime, too. Hope it's better than the last two Mario RPGs.

What's that Thumbs game? And one of the EDF games made it on a so-bad-it's-good WatchMojo list I saw. I didn't think those games were bad to start with? You seem to play the hell out of those. Btw, I bought Borderlands Handsome Collection not long ago for $24.

It's the Idle Thumbs podcast. EDF isn't bad, it's just simple. It's like a third-person Serious Sam, now I think of it - hoards of badies and you got one big gun. Go to it.

My friend fired up Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel today to put in the code for the new gun that Gearbox put out there on Facebook. It's a sniper rifle that's also a machine gun. Of course it is.

Oh hey that's cool the Vita got somewhat of a NA exclusive. If you want to play that on the big screen I think the Playstation TV has dropped to $30 used at GameStop. Its an option. Its a shame the Vita doesn't have a special cable like the PSP had where you could play it on a TV

Playstation TV is a seperate thing you have to buy? Weird. I played some EDF 2 on Vita today and it was pretty cool. I have some trouble with my eyes lately, probably because of my neck isssue, which might be fixed soon, so it's kind of fuzzy looking, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Yeah its the TV version of the Vita. You stick the games in a slot on the back and you use a PS3 controller to play Vita games. It also lets you stream PS4 games (I heard mixed reviews on this).

Sucks about the vision. Hopefully that is just temporary.

I don't think I'll bother with PSTV. I used to want to play all my PSP games on PS3, but since then I have more appreciation for the true handheld experience. EDF 2 has a great UI on the Vita. It's very easy to navigate the menus and control the action, surprisingly.

My vision has been variously good and not so good lately. Once I get my neck issue delt with, I'll see a eye doctor. It's weird how neck issues can affect the eyes, but they do.
