Got my preorder for Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon this morning. I expected a few more people to be there, but I was the only one when GameStop opened at 11am.

Over the week before this, I finally got around to playing the original game on GameCube. It was really good, although, I lost a lot of health fighting this ghost of a baby and am not sure how to replenish my health other than the few random hearts you pick up from investigating furniture. That alone doesn't seem enough to keep your character going in such a dangerous environment.

I love the lighting in the original game and little touches like dust that puffs away from anything you investigate and the way Luigi whistles the theme music at odd moments.

I played a little bit of Dark Moon tonight and it is set up exactly like the original. I'm just not sure yet how capturing ghosts will work. In the original you had to wiggle the analog stick in quick movements as you tried to pull the ghost into your Poltergust 3000. I'm not sure that will work so well on the 3DS, but I'll soon see about that.

I started Dark Moon with the 3D slider all the way on, but I fear that after a while I will turn it off like I did with Etrian Odyssey IV. It's not that it looks bad, quite the contrary, it looks great, but every time I look away from the top screen, my eyes have to refocus, and sometimes I have to struggle to do it. Maybe it's just tired eyes, but it gets annoying to have to refocus so much.

So far I'm amazed at how close Next Level Games has stuck to the original formula, and I'm glad. Why mess with what's good?

When I finish at least 2 of the games I just bought for my 3ds, I will pick up Dark Moon.  I am really excited to play it.  keep us posted!

I have my budget set for one new game a month and by gum, whether I'm finished with my current games or not, I'm gonna get and play something new.

In the back of my mind though, I am thinking I should maybe set it so I only buy one new game a Season so I can get my games fully played, but it's difficult when games have so much content that they could last months while exciting new stuff is popping up every few weeks.

I really like the original as well, glad they didn't try to fix what wasn't broken, apparently.

I really need to get a 3DS when more money comes my way.

I waited a long time to get a 3DS but when FIre Emblem, Etrian Odyssey, and Luigi's Mansion were all set to come out this year, I was finally compelled to own one.

This one is just too good to pass up. I have to get this for my 3DS. I tend to get a bit eye weary by the 3D sometimes, just like you do.

I watched the opening cinematic in 3D, but switched back, relunctantly, after a few minutes of gameplay. It looks so good in 3D, but it just messes with your eyes after a while.

I really want to play this one, but shouldn't buy more games at the moment!  Hope you enjoy it!!

I put in a couple of hours last night. You capture ghosts almost exactly like the original but with some small differences. In Dark Moon you have to make a specially bright flash of your flashlight to stun them but, in the original, you would keep the room dark and then turn on your flashlight to stun them. To vacuum them in, in Dark Moon, you hold RB, and then use the analog stick to resist them dragging you around. You have a meter, which when full, tells you to push the A button to complete the capture. In the original you would wiggle the analog stick and watch the ghost's number dwindle to zero, at which time you would capture it. Both systems are really good and fun.

I got this one, too.  Luigi cracks me up.

I love it when he starts whistling the tune of the accompanying music.

I picked mine up yesterday afternoon. I've only played a few minutes so far. I'm busy restarting battles in FE at the moment .
