Yeah. This screen shot sums up Monday. Horses to ride during the day, and dogs to help me control the mobs at night. What a life it is.
My goal this time was to find the Stronghold where you can enter the lair of the Ender Dragon. I had to get Blaze Rod from The Nether first by passing through that portal shown in the top left of the screenshot. Mark and I had some crazy fighting in there. Ghasts shoot fireballs at you like crazy and dark skeleton knights put some kind of curse on you when they touch you; maybe you die, maybe you just lose some health, you're never sure. But I managed to get some Blaze Rods by killing these firey creatures and get back out. Not before dying a few times though.
Then I had to make the Eyes of Ender by killing Endermen for their eyes and adding Blaze Powder made from crushing the Blaze Rod. I got a half dozen of those or more and started throwing them to see where they went. They lead you to the location of the Stronghold. Or rather, they lead to the spot on the surface that's directly above its location some unknown distance underground. Turns out, on this map, it was dead center of a very large and hard to navigate Jungle. Figures.
Well, Mark and I dug down and found the Stronghold but couldn't find the specific room containing the Ender Portal.. We found the Library though. The Ender Portal has to be there somewhere. The Stronghold is creepy as heck and full of Mob Spawners. We cleared most of them out but ended up not finding the portal before the day ended.
On a side note. I discovered some of the new additions to fishing in this game. You can now tug the line to attract a fish and watch the bubbles approach your line to tell you a fish is about to strike. Also, there are new fish to catch and sometimes strange items too. I used the fish to try and tame an Ocelot, which is only in Jungles, but it wouldn't follow me. I guess you can get it to mate with another Ocelot with fish (I did that for an achievement long ago), but how to make them follow you is a mystery to me.
Well, that's another day of Minecraft. I'm hoping to start Destiny next weekend and NOT get embroiled in another Minecraft quest, but we'll see.
