BaD Four: Pokemon Picross

Last night I felt a bit bored with Pokemon Shuffle, and too tired from work to consider M&L: Paper Jam, so I downloaded Pokemon Picross. Usually I don't like these number puzzle games because they get boring to me pretty quickly, but I tried it anyway, it's free.

Well, I got caught up in it and finished all the tutorial puzzles. I like the way they incorporated Pokemon and their powers. You can aquire Pokemon by finishing puzzles and then equip them to help you on harder puzzles. Each has a different ability to do things to the puzzle that aid you in finishing them.

There's also a timer, and, I suppose, you get more rewards the faster you do them. I don't like thinking about that aspect of the game though. I just do the puzzles in my own time.

yeah I can see how the timer would be annoying.  I don't know if Nick's Picross game has a timer or not....

Yeah, we also have a timer. There's an achievement on each puzzle for beating it within the time limit. It's not essential for progression or anything and there's not really perks necessarily associated with it. It's kind of more for fun/bragging rights on Miiverse.

I think Pokemon Picross gave you more rewards if you beat it within a time limit, but it wasn't necessary for progression to the next puzzle.

I believe you typically get extra Picrites. Plays into the whole F2P nature of the game, I suppose. For us, time counts toward the total completion percent of the game, but not for anything else. If you complete 50% of the game, you'll unlock the Bonus puzzles, which are stupid hard.

There's also no progression gates in PixlCross, you can play any puzzle you want in the game (with the exception of Bonus). So if you're a more experienced player you can just skip to the Medium or Hard puzzles and get a tougher challenge out of the gate.

I do like Pokemon, and I kinda like Picross. I should try this game. I haven't touched Pokemon Shuffle in ages.

There's nothing like free either.
