BaD Twenty-One: Fire Emblem, Figures, and Deadpool

I'm getting ahead of myself a little bit. This is my blog of events on Friday, even though I'm posting this early Sunday morning. So Friday I picked up Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright at Gamestop for no money because I traded in some games. I had trade-in money left over so, before I went to see the Deadpool film, I hit a different Gamestop and looked to see what Disney Infinity figures they had. Well they had the playset unlock figure I needed for the Guardians of the Galaxy playset in D.I. 2.0 and two figures, Rocket Racoon and Star Lord. So I got those and two more Skylanders (Zook and Boomer) to fill out the buy-2-get-3-free sale. See pic below:

I saw a Big Bang Trigger Happy that I thought was really cool, but I already have a regular Trigger Happy figure. I still really want it though.

He's just like Slim Pickens in Doctor Strangelove, riding that bomb down like a steer.

And the Deadpool film was really great. I loved the way the opening credits made fun of itself. It's like every detail in the film broke the 4th wall. Also the love story part was really well done. The film has some soul. I didn't get any of that from the trailer. Darn trailers are always so misleading.

gotta give it up to Kubrick.

How's fire Emblem.  I'm debating picking it up

I'm only like an hour into it, but I'm excited by it's graphics. The 3D in the cutscenes looks fantastic. I'm not sure what they did to make it so full of depth, maybe just lots of different images at different distances.

I see you chose blood over the adopted family. I plan to get both.

I wanted to get both, but since I've had trouble getting a lot of time in with handheld stuff lately, I thought I'd see how far I got in Birthright first.

I completely understand that. I went to gamestop when they put up the one with all of it and the art book and they said they were not taking anymore preorders. I said you just posted it yesterday. Anyway, I should get both this week and the DLC.

Hey, did you get a XBone? I know you and I are friends on the 360.

Yes, but my regular gaming friend, Mark, hasn't, and so I've still been using my 360.

I'll pass on Fire Emblem, but there are Fire Emblem characters in Project X-Zone 2.

I started the demo, but had to put it down for F.E.. I heard some talk about Project X Zone on Axe of the Bloodgod this week. Sounds fun. When I have time, I'll get back to that demo.

Almost bought Fire Emblem yesterday but put it back down. Today we were out shopping and I went into Best Buy. Completely sold out. Not surprised really. That's what happened with Awakening at first too.

I'm so glad it's doing well. There'll be more FE games for sure.

I've played just an hour or so of the game so far, and I'm really liking the visuals. The 3D cutscenes look amazing. It looks like it might not kick my ass right at the beginning either, unlike what might have happened if I had got F.E. Conquest.

The love story wasn't in the trailer, but that Nicolas Sparks style poster they released hinted at it.

Yea, the trailer threw me because I thought it was just going to be pure action and all dumb one-liners. I mean, it had all that, but it was a little deeper, and it was very smart in the way it presented itself. Visually, there were a lot of jokes too, and I like visual jokes.

I keep toying with trading in my games. Its cool to have a collection but now its just taking up space. Good stuff man on getting a new game with trade in credit. Hopefully this week I'll check out Deadpool in the swanky theater.

I'm planing on trading in several games for Ratchet & Clank next month. I'm pretty much over keeping everything now. At lot of stuff in appearing in digital form anyway.

Yeah I'd like to keep the classic plastic stuff but the current stuff I'm not as attached to. We shall see.
