I like the look of those Hulkbuster figures.
Toys-to-Life Buys, Fist of the North Star, and Disney Infinity

You get three blogs in one today. It's just how long a gaming day I had. I guess, when I grow up, I won't have time for all this. I hope that day never comes, maybe.
First up are my toys-to-life buys. I was going for Disney Infinity 3.0 characters Darth Maul and Hulkbuster, both on sale for $10 each, but the first place I went didn't have both, so I succumed to their used Skylanders SuperChargers and got five on the 5-for-2 sale. Here's the pic:
Back: Smash Hit. Front: Splat and car Splatter Splasher, and HIgh Volt and car Shield Strike.
Then later, in the middle of gaming at Mark's, I went out for snacks and picked up Hulkbuster at another shop that didn't have Darth Maul. I'll get him tomorrow. Here's a pic:
Now for my backlog play, Fist of the North Star on NES. This game is a very simple side scrolling brawler based on a obscure manga about a guy who likes to punch a lot, kind of like Gene from God Hand. I crouched and punched guys in the nuts for a while. Then I got stuck on a level where I couldn't go through the doors. You're supposed to hit A + B and Right on the d-pad but it wasn't working for whatever reason. I'd had enough anyway. The music was catchy though. Here's a gameplay vid:
Now for Disney Infinity 1.0. I played a bunch of the Toy Story in Space plaset with Buzz Lightyear. It ultimately frustrated me because I couldn't unlock his jet pack. I'm pretty sure you do it by playing all the combat missions, but after the first three, they wouldn't give me any more. I did everything else I could think of on the map waiting for a message that new missions were ready, but they never arrived. The visuals sure look pretty from certain angles though. Here's a screenshot of mine:
Then I played the Cars playset, which was more fun, and I spent way more time with it nearly completeing everything. It's mostly a whole lot of races and mini missions doing stunts, or towing cars around, or shooting orbs with your car's weapons. The cars control pretty well and the tracks are well designed. I used Francisco the whole time.
Then I jumped into the Toy Box, loaded the Lone Ranger level, and invited Mark in to get some multiplayer achievements. Fighting each other for kills became surprisingly fun expecially when I realized you have access, regarless what figure you use, to all the tools and packs (read as weapons and equipment) unlocked in the playsets. We both used our Wreck-It-Ralph figures and fought each other with Buzz's laser gun and Tonto's crow transformation among many other wild combinations. Another one was using the hover board from Incredibles and the sludge ball weapon from Monsters U. It was a ball chasing each other around like that, but even better, I realized eventually that I could drop in all sorts of toys I'd bought through the Vault or unlocked in the playsets. I dropped in spike pads, traps, horses, helicopters, the Incredicar and a bunch of other fun stuff. Never had a single glitch doing all this while getting blasted by Mark every few seconds either. Really fun!
Tomorrow I'm going to pick another short backlog game to play and then back to D.I. Toy Box to attempt the rest of the achievements. And oh yea, pick up Dark Maul.
