I didn't know there was a different AV cable for the original Genesis. The Genesis 2 and 3 use the same one though, and I have a Genesis 3 that my friend Mark gave me. My orginal one is lost to the void of time. Here's a pic:

Now I'm ready to try a few Genesis games tomorrow. I hope they work on my newer TV. Until then. Good day.

My favorite Genesis games are Ristar and Streets of Rage 2, so if you have those, play 'em!  And I hope you get to play Namco Museum vol. 4 soon, too!

I think I have both those on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. I'm going to replay that sometime too. Namco Museum 4 will be coming up very soon I believe.

Have you tried the Dreamcast homebrew Beats of Rage? It's not bad. I played the hell out of Streets of Rage on the Game Gear.

Beats of Rage looks cool! When I get back to my Dreamcast, I may have to look into it for download.

The controller had a dead B button. I have to return it. Win some, you lose some.

That sucks. The good thing about where I go for my Retro stuff, they check it out and reapair them before they sell it.

That's interesting that the Genesis 3 has a different a/v plug. I always thought that model was cool beause of its size. We have the original Genesis with bottom CD drive but for some reason something is wrong with the CD portion and it won't power on.

At one point, my friend Mark and I got all the add-ons to the original Genesis deck: 32X and CD drive, and put them all together. What a hideous monstrosity that is. The Genesis 3 is tiny, like the top loading NES I have. The Genesis 2 uses the same AV plug as the Gen 3. Just the first one is different.
