Started off Sunday with Scrabble for PSOne. This is a good TV version of the board game. Everything works fine. You have a tournament mode to play against A.I. characters and solitare in case you don't have anyone to play with. I played some tournament mode for a while before I got kind of bored of it. Get it, board? Yea, that's dumb. Anyway this was good to have way back when but now I have Scrabble on Xbox Live where I can play online. Yea, I don't need this anymore.
Then I played the FFXV demo on PS4. This sort of underwelmed me. I thought the graphics should have been better and the environment more interactive. I couldn't even break a bunch of tables when I was changed into a bull-like beast with horns. And why can't I charge? I didn't enjoy the fighting all that much either. It seemed slow, and I had a devil of a time blocking. In the boss battle it seemed like you had to be in the right position to block. If you were too close, it just didn't work. And neither did my fire spell. Well, it worked once, then I couldn't use it anymore. What's up with that? Anyway, I know this does not exactly show much of what the full game will be like, so I'll keep an eye out for gameplay footage.
I couldn't wait for the Nioh demo to finish. I should've had my PS4 on sleep mode during the week, because it would've been done. Well, I'll wait until I break the PS4 out again on May 17th when Valkyria Chronicles Remastered comes out.
Then I got to Saints Row IV on Xbox 360. This was so much fun. It ate the rest of the day so darn fast. That's what fun games do, and it's a little distressing. I didn't want to stop and neither did Mark. He's a little farther than me in the game, but there's a lot to do. Here's a picture of my ridiculous character I made in the character creator:

I call him Carrotman because he's half carrot, half man. I made him all orange with a huge green mound of hair. I made his face and head all barrell-like and lined with scars to imitate the ridges in a carrot. I also made his voice all high and squeeky. You see your made-up character in every part of the game: cutscenes, gameplay, and minigames. It's a never ending source of humor to me.
So I'll be playing this game some more tomorrow. Oh yes, I'm going to finish the main story and start finding all the collectibles and DLC, which I have from the National Treasure Edition. It's going to be a while. The city you play in is very large and jammed full of missions and challenges. I want to steal every car in the game and customize them. I did one and it looked really cool. I need a screen shot of that now.
Did I say this game is hysterically funny? All the writing is very good, like a episode of Archer. Lots of potty mouth, and inapproapriate adult humor, and more pop culture references than you've ever experienced before. And more game references than ever too. There's litterally every type of classic game genre stuck in various missions: a text based adventure, a 2D side scrolling brawler, endless runner, on rails space shooter, the list goes on and on. It's so much fun to experience all they put into it. I can only imagine the insane amount of work that went into this game.
Well, that's all folks. Until Monday.
