Got myself this remake of the original PS2 Odin Sphere for PS4 today. I love Vanillaware games, especially their art style which is very Japanese, colorful, and zany all at the same time. Plus they usually do game genre's I really dig like strategy, rpg, or some mix of the two. Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, I say. Here's a pic:

I could've gotten the collectors edition which has a t-shirt and full art book. But I'm trying to watch my money and even $20 more seems a lot to me right now. I got the abreviated art book given to preorders of the regular copy of the game anyway.

I wonder when I'll get to play it. I have to finish up Disney Infinity 3.0 (almost done) and Saints Row IV (2/3rds done) and  then I'll switch to PS4 and catch up with Valkyria Chronicles HD and then go right into Odin Sphere. Hopefully all done before Banner Saga 2 comes out in late July. We shall see.

If I still had a PS4 I would have gotten this. After E3 Ill have a better idea when Ill be getting one again so Ill grab it around then. I actually played this on PS3 and it was a lot of fun.

I would never be able to play through this game, but it's something I would like to watch someone play through.

Fingers crossed for Odin Sphere and the rest of the Vanillaware games making it to Steam or any other PC gaming plataforms, but knowing that Atlus hasn't fully embraced PC gaming, i'm still not holding my breath.

Seems everything is going to PC and then PC is being linked to the consoles. I guess it'll all become one service at some point, which is great. I've been missing a lot not being on PC.

I really enjoyed this on PS2.  I may get the remake on PS3 at some point.

The game is far superior on PS4 then it was on PS2. It's been given a new life. Hopefully they will make more of these types of games in the future. So, so pretty!

I hope I get to it. I'm thinking of culling my collection of a lot of stuff, but maybe I'll keep my PS4 stuff. I may trade all my PS3 stuff in though. I don't want to really, but I fear I'll never have time for it anyway.

It is like a grindy brawler. Its okay to take breaks from it. Just jump in I say. As long as you get throught the first tut explaining the item management, seeds, potion mixing. The tutes are the slowest part of a fast game.

Axe of the Blood God podcast talked about it this week and I'm excited. Apparently there's making food in this game?

My reorganization has led me to set up all my Xbxo stuff at Mark's place. At home I'll set up the rest of it. Not sure what to do with PS4 with it's HDMI cable. Maybe I'll upgrade my TV.

Yes, there is a pretty deep crafting system. You basically have to plant seeds in any given level and killing enemies feeds the plant growth. You can grow fruit, sheep, yes sheep to restore health. You can also mix potions to make antidotes, cool drinks for hot stages, etc. So, aside from the brawling, there is that to play around with.

I heard the sheep grow on trees. I want to see that.

Nice pickup! I'm glad that you still got an artbook with a pre-order, and this game is a good reason to hurry up and finish those other games!

Well, I maybe trading it all in on Tuesday. All my PS stuff. I don't think I'll get to any of it so why keep it around. Disappointing this.

I really want to pick it up, but I'm still not seeing it on PSN here, which is unfortunate. Hopefully they fix the originals framerate, as it was fucking obnoxious playing a brawler like a slideshow.

Funny thing is, I may trade in all my Sony stuff tomorrow (Tuesday) as I feel like I'm just not going to have time to play anything outside of XBO stuff anymore. I'm annoyed, but that's time for you.
