Games Reorganized and Second XBO

I thought I'd post this picture of my games up on the two bookshelves I bought last week. This is after the several purges I made for games to trade. I managed to add a few more bucks to the XBO purchase I needed to get my long time gaming buddy Mark to join the current generation. I also traded in older stuff Gamestop wouldn't take to my local game store and picked up Tales of Zestiria for PS4. Pics below:

                                     shelves

I got some Trap Team Skylanders up on the top shelf along with the metal case for Ni No Kuni. The games are all the previous two generations with older stuff and handheld games in boxes below. I have only a handful of current gen games right now and they are all with the systems. You can barely see my fat PS3 standing in the bottom right corner. There are also three Skylanders Starter Packs for XBO on the left and a few accesories like Kinect and that U-draw Tablet. There's also some NES games out on top of the box. All the rest, like hardware and more Skylanders and Disney Infinity figures, I have in cases in a closet. I'd like to have them a little more accessible, so I'm still doing more organizing.

I wanted some XBO games but I didn't see the ones I wanted, so I got Tales of Zestiria for PS4. I've only dabbled in this series, so I thought I'd give it a better chance and try and play through a whole game.

I set up the XBO I got Mark today and we spent a lot of time waiting for updates and downloads. I started the download of the free level for Doom and Mark started downloading Sunset Overdrive. Then we played Ticket to Ride the rest of the afternoon because those downloads were going very slowly.

The XBO U.I. is really confusing. I feel like I need to watch a tutorial video or something to really get a handle on it. Mark had issues with it as well.

Well, that's a day. I'm currently moving my old TV into my room next to my shelves so I can set up a little retro gaming center. I can't plug HDMI cables into this TV, so I'll have to play current gen stuff at Mark's place on my newer TV. I'd like to get a newer TV for my room though. I want to get to Tales of Zestiria, and that might not happen at Mark's where we mostly play XBO. TVs are pretty cheap these days. I think I might get one sometime this year, but I have plenty to play in the retro bin, so I can wait maybe. Frickin' PS4 is pretty sweet though. No U.I. problems with that system, I can tell you.

I like Zestiria, but I think I would play it more if it was on a handheld.  It's a beautiful game though, I love the graphics and music, etc.  The story isn't bad either. I'm just so obsessed with getting my publishing out there though that I feel guilty when I play games that I'm not working.  :(

I feel guilty when I play during the work week. I did that last week and once this week because I just felt exhausted from work and stuff, but I usually want to get the important stuff done those days like looking for better work, exercise and reading. Good luck with publishing!

I would love to have some super huge shelves for all my games.

You are lucky to have a friend who plays games with you a lot.  Enjoy every moment.

Let me know if you find any other Xbox One games that you think I'd like.  There's not much of a reason for me to even consider one right now.

Target has some cheap stuff. Those shelves were only $30 each.

He'd have me there every day of the week if I wanted to. I've got a few other things to do outside gaming however.

I looked over my own list of XBO games to get and I really don't see anything outside of maybe Sea of Thieves that you might like. Certainly Yooka-Laylee is coming though. I wonder why XBO doesn't have too many family friendly games right now other than Lego and Disney Infinity. Oh yea, and Skylanders. Cuphead is a platformer using an old cartoon style that you might be interested in. Seems like it has a kind of sinister edge to it though.

Most of the games you mentioned, like Yooka-Laylee and LEGO games, can be played on systems I have.  Cuphead does look awesome, but I think I'd be happy just watching somebody else play it, as I hear it's super hard.  It's just weird because I really loved the 360, and have no interest in their next console!

Not a lot that's exclusive to the system. Family friendly games that is. I wonder why they haven't done those kind of games. There was Viva Pinata once. Maybe the player base is a little older than Nintendo's. Well, that's obvious now I think of it.

I jumped on the current gen with consoles last holiday. Time is my big enemy now.
