I got up early enough today, so I went to see Suicide Squad in IMAX 3D. It's a much bigger action flick than I expected, so it looked great in 3D. I thought it was fine but I wondered why they had to focus so much on the one note of humanity in each of the squad members. These guys and gals are fun for their craziness. I want to see that unleashed. And maybe that's the word for this movie, the squad members seemed leashed up most of the time, either litterally, or psychologically. But it was fun; just could've been funner if it took a note from the Crank movies. That's what I was hoping for.

And now for my own brand of craziness, Skylanders figures. Toys R Us had a buy-1-get-2-free sale on single figures, so I got three; and Gamestop had their usual 5-for-2 thing. The figures end up being about $5 each at GS and $6 each at TRU. Here's a pic of the lot:

                                 

Top Row: Sun Runner, Legendary Bone Bash Roller Brawl, Burn-Cycle.

Middle Row: Barrel Blaster (for Donkey Kong), Fiesta, Trap Shadow (Swap Force fig).

Bottom Row: Freeze Blade (Swap Force fig), Sea Shadow.

There is, of course, a few more I could get, so tomorrow I'll hit another Gamestop to see if they have any I need. Toys R Us is also doing a half price sale on the Race Packs (not called that exactly, I forget the actual name for the combo packs with three figs and an in-game race level). They are $18 instead of $35. I may go for that if I don't find any more figs in the wild.

I love hunting this stuff down. I know I shouldn't, but I'm my own sort of Suicide Squad member.
