Dragon Quest VII Preordered

I know I said I wouldn't do it, but I did anyway. I thought about how some rpgs on Nintendo systems tend to go scarce out here in the wild soon after release, so I thought I'd better lock this one up.

I've never played VII, just VIII and the first DQ game. Oh, and a little bit of IX. I think I'll let this game take priority over my backlog when it comes out on Sept. 16.

I couldn't get into either of the Dragon Quest games I played (VII and VIII). I don't mind grinding, but having to do it from the beginning was a big turn off. If I'd had a 3DS when IX came out, I would probably have gotten it anyway though. I always liked the look of the series. I actually think Toriyama's art style is more suited for fantasy illustration rather than whatever genre Dragon Ball is.

I don't mind the grinding in DQ games that much because of all that Toriyama art. I could battle cute slimes all day.

Ever since I tried DQ VIII and fell really hard for it, I've been wanting to check out the other DQ games. I played the first one fairly recently and just a little bit of DQ IX.

I fell really hard for it too. I've played bits of 4-6 and they're fun, but VIII was special. I've heard a lot of interesting things about VII though, and this remade version of it looks great.

Yeah it's a good idea to buy RPGs as soon as you can before they get hard to find. That's how I missed out on games like Fantasy Life. Anyway, my favorite Dragon Quest game is Rocket Slime!

I need to return to Rocket Slime at some point. First time I played it I couldn't understand it.

I'm pre-ordering it soon on Amazon, that 20% is just too nice. I just wish they would fix the date on the physical copy. Last I checked it was still set at Dec 2016. I'm pretty excited to play it!
