My Black Friday (or Thursday evening rather) deal was getting a PS4 for a little over 200 bucks!
My Black Thursday

What do you call Thanksgiving day shopping since stores like Target open at 6pm? I bought some stuff on both Thurday and Friday, but mostly Thursday. Since last year, I've been heading to the shops after Thanksgiving. I usually arrive there way late for the real crowds, like 11pm, so it's kind of nice to look through what's left without getting trampled.
I dodged a bullet with buying anything big. I didn't get a Wii-U because, at Target, there was only the Mario Kart bundle, and it wasn't marked down at all, still $300, so not yet. Then I didn't get a new iPod Touch. Target had some 6th generation ones for $150, a little less than the $200 current 16 GB one, but they had all sold out. I wanted to get the current one, but I think it's too small. My 2nd generation iPod is just the right size, about the size of a small iPhone, and I don't want to go smaller. However, it's beginning to crash on me pretty frequently now. I'm considering an iPad Mini, but those things are $300. We'll see. For the moment I'm putting up with the frequent crashes.
So then let's talk about what I did get. I picked up Lego Dimensions and Skylanders Imaginators starter packs for about half price, $40 each. I also got the Chopscotch sensei Skylander figure for $10, down from $15. On Friday, I looked through all the sales of downloadable games on both Xbox One and PS4, lots of tempting stuff. I wondered where PSOne Classics were on PS4 until I found out those games only work on PSP, PS3 and Vita. So I booted up my Vita to check that stuff out. No real sales there though. I ended up getting Darkest Dungeon for PS4/Vita for $15, down from $25. I actually paid for it with money I had in my PSN account since last year. So no new money was spent.
That was about it for my gifts to myself. I should wrap them and label them from Santa and put them under a tree. I probably won't play them at least until Xmas anyway. I'm too busy with Doom at the moment. More about that at the end of the weekend as well as some stuff about No Man's Sky, which I played some hours of just before Thanksgiving dinner. Also, Severed that I've been playing on Vita. Got some good time with that while I did laundry at a laundromat near me after shopping on my black Thursday. My building's washer/dryers are just dreadfully bad. So I go to the laundromat now, and it's a good place to play some handhelds for about 90 minutes.
So, as Hugh Sterbakov used to say on Dan Amrich's Activision podcast, oh bye there.
