Diablo Winding Up. Or Is It?

Mark and I both finally got the last hardcore mode achievement in Diablo III: U.E.E.. That's for getting any hardcore mode character to level 70. We played lots of nephalem rifts to get the last 20 levels today. It's really the best place to gain levels. I played a Wizard and he a Warrior. In our previous harcore mode match, Mark, a Demon Hunter, had died at level 50. So rather than go it alone with my Crusader, I restarted as a Wizard and Mark created a Warrior (This was our arrangement when we played the game on X360). Well, on normal difficulty, I was so overpowered by the time I got to level 50, that I barely had to do anything as demons just dropped around me. It was still fun to let loose with my powered up magic laser. I felt like Marvel's Cyclops.

What's next? Well, I have one more achievement and that's for completing 500 bounties. Bounties are pretty short missions on the campaign maps. There's maybe six or more in each of the five Acts. This could get boring but Mark still has to do the Dream Team achievement (all six character types to level 70), so I'll lead the way and let him power level while doing bounties, just like he did with me earlier in the week. I like working on two or more achievements at once.

I just heard about the updates coming to Diablo III this year. January will see the appearance of a kind of remake of Diablo I within Diablo III. It'll only be available sometime in January as a celebration of 20 years of Diablo. So, I'll definitely run through that. Then there will be a larger update coming in the second half of 2017 that'll add new areas and a new character type, The Necromancer. I can't wait to unleash armies of the undead with that character. I've been doing that to a limited degree with the Witch Doctor. That character allows you to bring along a giant dog and a giant zombie. Not quite an army.

So more Diablo will happen in 2017, but I may be done in a week or two until the next update. I'm thinking of getting Borderlands The Handsome Collection for Mark and I to run through. We've played Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel on X360, but it'll be fun to tackle a whole new set of achievements again on XBO.

I have never played Diablo but I do like it when a character is overmatched for the AI. Its a non cheat code god mode. Good luck on getting that last achievement

I was telling Mark just that, it's like God Mode. You can still get surprised though. I keep an eye out for getting surrounded and any appearance of lasers sweeping the battlefield. Those things rip down your health like nobody's business, god mode or no god mode.

Any game that's fun in co-op turns into a long player. I love getting into massive battles with screen filling badies like you find in Nephalem Rifts. The game never slows down at all no matter how much is going on. It's great.

Dang nabbit. If only you had BL Handsome Collection on PS4 we could have played online.

Darn these console divisions. I've been sort of passively encouraging multiplayer in the games that allow it. I just leave the game open to people on my friends list if they want to jump in. I've been sending gifts through Diablo III to people on XBO. That's kind of cool, but no one's shown up yet aside from Mark, who's always there.

The 500 bounties thing was annoying.  It was the last trophy I needed for platinum and it took forever.  I made it more interesting by farming for those keys that keywarden bosses dropped to open the secret portals in Tristram to fight the uber bosses to get the Hellfire items.  I think it's a lot easier to get them now though.  I also completed an armor set for my demon hunter.

Ah, that's what those keys are for. I watched my friend Mark open one of those portals and fight several bosses at once from the main game. I'll be playing the bounties to help Mark level up his characters for the Dream Team achievement. That should get most of them. Then I might just do a few here and there and get on with something new. I kind of want to move on.
