Borderlands: I plan on adding the Borderland games to my PS3 collection. I played a little of the first one when I was a PS Plus member
Bounty Hunting in Diablo and Borderlands

So today, Mark and I started with Diablo III: U.E.E.. I did bounty runs, while he power leveled characters for the Dream Team achievement. He got it and now has 100% completion of the game. I'm at 55% on the 500 bounties achievement, my last. Then we started the complete Borderlands run on XBO with Borderlands 1. It's backwards compatible and we both have it digitally, so we just installed and played. More below.
Diablo III:
I did a complete bounty run of the five acts. This gets you around 25 bounties, or a little more. That's about 5% of 500. So I'll need 9 more days of doing this. I guess I'll start speed running them to see how fast I can do it. I'm sticking to my Witch Doctor character who's now at 130 paragon. I also played on Torment VI today. I got a lot of legendary equipment. Some of those had very specific abilities that changed my skills. In other words, I got more pets. I got this giant spider from combining two pieces of equipment that are parts of a set. Then I extracted an ability from a legendary item and used it to conjure a demon to fight for me. All together now, I have three giant pets, one to six small pets, a demon fighter, and I frequently turn into three skeletons, one of whom is me, and the other two are clones that use my abilities on their own. This is very nearly an army on the battlefield. I love it. I roam around the field of battle observing my pets like a coach on the sidelines of a football field. I do some attacking myself, but I largely let my pets do the work. I have several items that boost their attack power, so they do more damage than I do anyway. Ah, it's good to be the Witch Doctor.
Borderlands:
I had to stop Diablo after the bounty run because after one run of the five acts, it kind of repeats itself. Not exactly, but it seems very samey doing those areas over again. So Mark and I started our complete Borderlands run with the backwards compatible Borderlands 1 on XBO. It took a little while to figure out how to make a private match so we could play co-op without randos, but it's really not that hard. You just have to figure out how to only use the emulated Xbox 360 menus instead of the XBO ones. Then things got rolling.
The beginning of this game is always frustrating for me. Early on you mostly feel underpowered and it's a struggle, but after a while, you start leveling and gathering better gear, and then things are better. It took me to about level 18 to start really feeling good about it. I was surprised to get so absorbed by the game again. I actually tried to imagine what it would be like playing this in VR, and I actually wanted to. I'm a little scared how it would affect my mind though. Immersion that deep can be very addictive. I may never want to come out. I certainly didn't want to stop when the night was over and that was without VR.
And that's a week. Mark and I both have copies of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection now. I traded some stuff today and got the second copy for nothing. So, along with my continuing accumulation of bounties in Diablo, I'll be playing Borderlands 1, 2 and Pre-Sequel for the rest of the month, or until Halo Wars 2 comes out, or when Valkyria Revolution comes out. When is that game coming out anyway? It's out in Japan and supposedly world wide in February, but Gamestop doesn't have it listed for pre-order yet. I wonder what's up with that.
