What I'm Playing This Weekend

My plan, so far, is to play some more Borderlands 2 from The Handsome Collection and then pry myself away from that after a couple hours (usually very difficulty) and play Lego Marvel Avengers, which I just got with my preorder money from Halo Wars 2 (I'm going to rent it instead). But I just noticed that my first rental game on the way is Yoshi's Woolly World for 3DS. Whether it'll get to me by Saturday is a question. If it does, I'll jump right into that first. Here's some more detail on these games below.

In Borderlands 2 I'm at level 25 and still doing missions in the main story. I've been taking one mission at a time trying to avoid the main story missions as long as I can so I can do every single mission in the game. There are a lot of them, but they are all fun. I'm paying particular attention to the dialog this time. I've put the voice work way up in the sound mix. All the voice work in this game is really funny and interesting. I learned that Ellie and Scooter are children of Moxxi. How I missed that the first time, I don't know. I can't wait to get to the DLC content. I'm going to do all that in chronological order to when they came out. Then I'll start playthrough 2. The level cap is 70, and I'll need to get there to take on the biggest badass of the game, the creature who is like Crawmerax in the first game - I forget it's name off hand.

In Lego Marvel Avengers, the last game-by-association game I'm playing (I'm ending that plan), I am going to go right after Ultron and try and play as him. I'm not sure if he's available at the beginning, but if not, I'll play whatever it takes to unlock him.

In Yoshi's Woolly World, I'm debating whether to upgrade my 3DS to the new one, or get that device that allows me to use amiibo and get the Yarn Yoshi or Poochie amiibos. I'm trying to avoid spending right now though, so I might just play the game with my current older 3DS and just see how useful it would be to have the amiibo. I'll go price the amiibo reading device later today just to see what it's going for.

I'm really keen on a Wii-U right now. I want to be able to rent Zelda Breath of the Wild. But I could get a Switch instead. A new Wii-U is the same price, I think. But, I could get a used Wii-U for $200 U.S. . We'll see. My wallet screams no, but my emotions scream yes. Who to listen to?

I'd honestly just wait for a price drop on the Switch, but that's me.

I waited forever for a price drop on the Wii-U and it never happened. Nintendo doesn't like to give price drops it seems even when their system isn't doing so well.

Wii U is gonna be hard to find. They ended production on them. All the ones I have seen are from sellers and they are trying to get quite a bit for them. If you can find one decently priced then ya I say go for it. Im getting a Switch at launch, Im excited.

Good for you. I wish the Wii-U was marked down last Xmas season. That's when I wanted to buy one but not at $300. I can get one at $200 now used (the 8GB model) but that's not far off the Switch price. That and how I'm trying to be more current with my games, I think I should probably get a Switch instead. If I have time to go back to older stuff though, I'd like to play a bunch of games on the Wii-U. Maybe someday when it's $100, I might pick one up.

Just get the Switch.  $100 seems like a good savings now, but you'll regret it in a year when the Switch is getting all the cool new games.

That's what I was thinking. I'm a little too late to preorder at my Gamestop because they sold out already, but I'm going to lurk around that weekend and see if anyone cancells. In the meantime, I'll continue to trade stuff for more credit.

Go with the Switch. The WiiU would be a good buy if you can find a new one, but you might as well wait a bit. Next year WiiU's might show up when people are trading in old consoles to buy the Switch so you can get both and save some cash.

I can't remember when you play as Ultron but he's in the game. It's not a bad character but I stuck with a couple of characters.

I'm in close talks with the guys at my Gamestop. If there's an extra one to be had, I'm in a good position to get one on release weekend.
