Lego Marvel Avengers

I started this game today on XBO. So far so good. It's pretty fun. I'm on the hunt to unlock Ultron, and after a few hours, no sign of him. I have a feeling I'm going to have to play most of the game to unlock him. That's fine. The only issue I have at the moment is that sometimes it's hard to see where you can build something because the highlighted area is subtle as heck. Also, there are a lot of special powers and sometimes it's hard to figure out which one works where. Sometimes it doesn't matter, though, because in story mode you only have access to the two characters they give you on a particular level and they might not have the power you're looking for. But once you finish the level in story, you can go back in free play and use any character you've unlocked. I like trying to find the hidden Stan Lees. My mission is to save the Stan Lees!

The Lego games have really risen in production value since something like Lego Star Wars. It's almost too much, though, with all the cut scenes and fights you can participate in only through a few button presses. I kind of liked the more open world, exploritory nature of the earlier Lego games. There will be more of that when I go back in free play, though. Story mode doesn't let you take your time all that much. It'll be fine this one time and then I can search hard for all the collectibles.

BaD down. Over and out.

Yeah, sometimes I get annoyed in Marvel Superheroes when I can't figure out who/what superpower to use at a certain place. There's a spot on the map with a golden brick, but I can't get to it, there's no indication it's above or below where I'm looking, and trying to dig the ground where the map says it is hasn't worked.

The puzzles tend to either be too frustrating because of that or too simple when in  story mode the game more or less tells you "switch to this character and press O."

I noticed on the mini map that it tells you up or down with a simple red or green arrow. I used that alot today searching for stuff in the Manhatten area. Totally helpful since it's full of tall buildings.

There are so many powers, I keep forgetting what breaks what element. Iron Man is very usefull though. His two attacks break a lot of stuff and his different suits copy a bunch of the other character's powers. The Tony Stark figure seems delighted like a child everytime he switches suits. I thought that was funny.

Yeah, they definitely made Iron Man the most useful character in Superheroes.

And yeah, I knew about the arrow, but it doesn't help for all the gold bricks.

I noticed there's a character editor in the game where you can combine different figures' powers together into a new weird character. That's kind of cool. I'd like Quicksilver to wield Thor's Mjolnir hammer.

I got Lego Marvel Avengers cheap and it was worth it. Still like Lego Jurassic Park better, because dinosaurs. But those games are super fun.

I thought the humor was better in Lego Jurassic Park, too. And all the Spielberg Easter eggs.

Yup, totally agree.

I got it for $20, actually $10 because I had $10 from a cancelled pre-order. I really want to play Jurassic Park and Force Awakens.

I still feel like LEGO Marvel Avengers was made by Traveller's Tales B-Team, as I think LEGO Jurassic World and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was much better.  Speaking of LEGO, I just got the LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack and Knight Rider Fun Pack for LEGO Dimensions to review!

I'll have to play those other Lego games to see that. I'm comparing LMA to what I played last which was Lego The Hobbit. It seems vastly improved over that.

My problem with the previous two Marvel games is that at times it would get confusing on which Lego studs were to collect and which ones were part of the scenery. As for the figures I'm not going to lie, I used a list I saw online on the characters powers. The minifigure roster is so big that it gets confusing on who does what especially the ones you unlock during free play.

i had a problem seeing where a build spot was. It would have multicolored dots around the spot but they made them so small, I would miss them easily. I also had some trouble with powers. I had to look up who could dig (one of Iron Man's suits does it) and I still don't know what uses cosmic powers. Wouldn't Captain Universe do that? Apparently not since I tried him. I also keep forgeting what powers effect what barriers. Who does the silver ones?

I didn't know one of the Iron Man suits could dig. All this time I've been using Squirrel Girl.

As for cosmic powers I forgot his name, but the final boss in the game, doesn't he use cosmic powers?

I have the Squirrel Girl helicopter but I don't think I've unlocked her yet. One of Iron Man's suits has jackhammers for arms. Not sure where I unlocked that.

I've tried so many characters looking for cosmic powers. I'm going to have to look it up.

I love the licenses, but I've never been able to get into the gameplay of the Lego games. It's strange. I've tried a couple times.  I remember what I most played was one of the first Lego Batmans on the original DS.  That was fun.

I started with Lego Star Wars Complete Saga. I tried it on a whim. It's pretty simple gameplay. I do like the puzzles and such. Very easy for the most part. And there is humor. That's an important element that keeps me playing.

I  have to agree with Cary on this one. I liked it, but it didn't wow me. I did have fun finding and rescuing all the Stan Lees, though. And like Catherine mentioned above, Lego Jurassic Park was a better game.

I'm just enjoying the bug free experience. My last Lego game, Lego The Hobbit, really soured me on Lego games. I'm glad they seem to have ironed out some problems.

I really like saving the Stan Lees. Maybe it's that I miss my grandparents or something, but I have a real soft spot for Stan in this game.

Oh, I liked it and had a lot of fun with it, don't get me wrong. And I did find a couple of bugs, but nothing game-breaking like in Lego Pirates of the Carribbean.

The whole game crashed on me exactly once in the 20 hours or so I played it. That's not too bad.
