Can't get enough.
I'm playing the game in challenge mode. Here you are given challenges as you build your zoo. I thought it would be a kind of extended tutorial before I tackle the campaign mode. It kept going though. I got my zoo to level 40 (the max?) and unlocked dozens of achievements. I was working on the "get all 20 awards on one zoo" achievement when I had to stop for the day. I had only one award to get, 100 births. Chasing this achievement really got me to work my zoo to the max. I've got large environments of every type with multiple pairs of animals in each. I just keep them happy, make sure there's enough room, assign a breeding expert and just wait.
While I waited, I chased other achievements like feeding and washing the animals a certain number of times, traveling on foot and by vehicle a certain distance, and researching every animal and placable object.
There's still quite a bit more to go. Two of the achievements I know are going to be difficult. One is for breeding every type of animal. If that just means lions, antelopes, elephants etc. . ., then it'll be easy, but if it includes every species of lion, antelope, ect. . . it'll be hard. I've been looking for a database within the game to tell me what I've bred, but, so far, I haven't found one. That could make the chore even harder. We'll see though. I like the game so much, I might not even mind. I really want to get to free play so I can design the zoo the way I want. These challenges make me structure things in a certain way I don't always like looking at, or create confusing pathways that get me lost.
Anyway, Mark just bought a copy of the game too on Amazon after watching me play it. There are some achievements for playing co-op and sharing animals that we'll have to get next weekend when he has his copy. I may be playing Halo Wars 2 by then, but I'll stop to finish achievements in Zoo Tycoon first, for sure.
May the BaD be with you.
