Started Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Started Pre-Sequel today. My first impression (on this second playthrough) is that it is way less aggro than Borderlands 2. Enemies say less ultra violent things. There's even an option in the settings to tone down the gore. I don't think that was in B2. The game is a little bit less chatty overall. However, it still makes me chuckle frequently. I can't help thinking about the difference in developers in this regard. 2K Australian toning down the violence from the Gearbox, based in Texas, USA, developed B1 and B2. My friend Mark perfers B1 and B2 over Pre-Sequel, but I like it just fine.

I swear they changed some of the dialog too for this XBO/PS4 remake. I remember hearing Janey Springs say a certain line over and over again on X360. Something about being "dry". This version has her say something about "everything is greasy". I'm not sure why they'd change that except that maybe they wanted to be a little less edgy in the humor? B1 and B2 certainly didn't hold anything back and went right for the jugular, sometimes even making me cringe a little.

I gained 15 levels in this run today and was wrecking house for the most part. I went with the character Aurelia "the Baroness" because I wanted to go all sniper rifle and she's good at distance shooting. She has a freeze ability too that works well to stop enemies so I can head shot them. To stay consistant with the other games, though, I should've chosen Wilhelm because he has a flying battle drone that's basically like the turrets used by Roland and Axton, whom I played as in B1 and B2, respectively. I'm back to my old favorite; although, in my playthrough of Pre-Sequel on X360, I used Claptrap. But I specialized in sniper rifles. Aurelia was a latter edition to the game I didn't have access to at the game's launch. She's much better for that sort of thing.

So I'm tearing through this game pretty good, mission after mission. I'm going to stay on Normal difficulty even when I finish the main story. I'm going to stay on that even if I stop leveling. I'm going to play through all the content, DLC and everything, on Normal. Once I've done that, I'll decide if I'm done with the game or not. I want to move on to Tales from the Borderlands and finish my run of all the Borderlands games. I'd like to see how well Tales plays on the XBO. It had horrible frame-rate issues on X360. So bad, it almost ruined it for me.

Ok so Tales is the Telltale game. Wish that came in the Handsome Collection. Ah well.

It's in it's own collection on disc. I thought I had it for XBO, but I'm not sure now. I don't think you can play the 360 version on XBO. So I might go get the boxed copy of all five episodes for XBO. I like physical copies.

oh man dont get me started about those Tales games on last gen consoles. The framerate, the stuttering while u try to do a QTE....ug. I will say, the new Walking Dead on PS4 played MUCH better. And the interface was improved. I haven't played BAtman, but I'm getting to it.

That's good news. I can't wait to replay Tales with a smooth framerate and I'm totally committed to playing the Guardians of the Galaxy game when it comes out.

I didn't notice that option about the gore in the game. I think its more enjoyable to play through the game/dlc at the same difficulty because like you said in previous blogs the enemies get a hell of a lot stronger

I think that was my problem with B2. When I beat the main game, I felt compelled to up the difficulty but then the DLC was really hard. It's like they want you to go to the beginning of the main game after switching difficulty.
