I went to BFD in Dallas. I liked it. It was my best friend's first all-day concert at a large venue.
Halo 5

I played about 7 hours of Halo 5 today. After every level, I felt like I was near the end but that's probably because every level has a massive finale that seemed like it could've been the end of the game. It became, after a dozen levels, kind of exhausting, really.
Anyway, this game is pretty good. I mean, it's amazing in visuals and core design but it's a little bit different from the Bungie made Halo games that I love. I think I figured out what it is too. It's that the 343 Industries games (Halo 4, 5) are a bit more tactical in style whereas the Bungie games are more run-and-gun heroics. I like tactical shooters in certain genres like those early World War II Call of Duty games, but when I pop in a Halo game, I kind of expect the Bungie style that lets you be a crazy powerful super soldier and stomp over everything in your way. Halo 5 is not quite that. You get to see that sort of thing in the cutscenes, and I wanted to play each one really badly, but alas, the main game has to be played a bit more conservatively or you will get trounced.
I did rage quit once and then popped right back in after I thought about it and realized I was trying to do run-and-gun when I needed to be more careful and take enemies out one by one. I generally think the game is very good, though.
Everyone seems to be critical of the story and the lack of depth in the Locke character. I think the story is pretty good but I agree that Locke is a bit uninteresting. He's all work and no play and has very little to say.
I hope to finish it tomorrow and check out some multiplayer stuff. I hope there's a kind of Firefight mode in it. I don't go much for PvP.
And that's a day. How was yours?
