I just watched Microsoft's E3 Press Conference. There are a lot of interesting games coming out soon. One I really liked was Metro Exodus, such cool graphics and such amazing detail in the world and in the actions of your character. His gun jams, he pulls the crossbow bolt he just shot out of the monster his killed and reloads it in his crossbow. The creature animations are frighteningly realistic. I’m excited to check that one out.
The announcement of original Xbox games coming to the backwards compatibility program got my attention and probably the biggest crowd reaction of the show. I immediately went through all the games I have and what I’d like put on that list: KOTOR for one, Black, Destroy All Humans 2, Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance, Burnout 1-3, and Crimson Skies just to name a few off the top of my head.
The announcement of Minecraft being connected to every system out there was kind of interesting. I guess it’ll be the first game to cross over to every system.
The Xbox One X is pretty cool and I’d upgrade to it if I had the money. I know Gamestop will have some trade-in program to incentivize people to do that. So maybe one day I’ll do that. I sure like the idea of faster load times. I hope that extends to download times. I hate those long installs.
I’m going to watch the other press conferences one at a time every day this week. I can’t wait to see the Sony and Nintendo ones and some of the developer presentations.
