E3 2017 Reactions: Sony

I saw lots of interesting stuff. I really love the art style of games like Shadow of the Colossus and Monster Hunter. It’s different than anything I saw in the Microsoft presentation and that’s what I’m looking for on my PS4, unique games, especially in a more eastern art style.

Probably the one that really opened my eyes, though, was Insomniac’s Spider Man. Boy does that look great! Spider-Man’s animations are super smooth. You really get the sense of his strength and quick movement. All those web skills too, many more than I ever thought possible for Spider-Man. I’m excited to check out that one.

I really wanted to see a From Software game but at least there was a God of War game. I wonder if they’re softening Kratos up a bit now that he’s a father and has to watch after his son. Seems that way but the battle scenes were still pretty brutal. I really don’t care much for story in those games, just great fighting. I hope they avoid the QTEs because GOW 3 had way too many of them.

I was happy to see the SM2 mechanics show up in that Spiderman helicopter sequence and I'm just generally excited for all the Sony exclusives.

Lots of characters from so many games in that Marvel vs Capcom game. That was neat to see.

Believe it or not, right now I prefer playing games on my PS4, not my Switch. But Sony or Microsoft didn't reallly have much at this year's E3 that interested me. I just posted my E3 2017 blog article, if you'd like to read it when you get a chance.

I've been on my XBO most of the time but I'm yearning for a new PS4 game to play. Just gotta wait to see what Gamefly brings me next.

yeah Yarger was complaining about no announcements from From either. But eventually we'll heare something, I bet at Gamescom.

I never played Colossus, so this remake will be perfect for me.

I've never played it either. I'll definitely try and rent it when it comes out.

The only game I am excited about from Sony's show is God of War. I like the different take on Kratos being the badass who kills everything in sight, to papa Kratos protecting his kid...while killing everything in sight. Spider-man looks really good, but its a game I am going to wait on to see what folks here say about it. I have a couple of Spider-man games and I just can't get into them.

I think both are cool, but neither would be day-one purchases. I'm going to rent both of them.
