Lego My Eggos

I’m seriously considering switching to playing only small indie games. Full game experiences are so involved. Whole weekends disappear. I don’t know if I like that right now. But I’m going to finish what I started, and that is Lego Pirates of the Caribbean.

I nearly did finish it today. I’ve one hundred percented the first half of the game, gotten all the characters, all the red hats (which give you boosts during gameplay), and gotten over 1 billion studs. I think just a few more hours next weekend will finish it. I’ve been occasionally looking up walkthroughs. I got stuck just a few times, and in the interest of time, I looked up a walkthrough on IGN using MS Edge on my console. It was surprisingly easy to jump back and forth from the game and website. I tried to avoid it most of the time though. It’s more fun to figure it out myself.

It looks like July is just about over, so I’m researching my music listening for August. I’m doing 1974. I have a handful of albums I haven’t listened to closely and another playlist of hits and TV/Film music just for fun. ’74 really ushers in a new era of music departing from the influence of the 60s. Bands like Kiss, Rush and Kansas debuted. Hard rock and metal were starting to gain a foothold, Prog Rock was at its peak and would decline after this making way for Punk, and Disco would become a thing. Maybe I’ll do a whole blog on this when I’ve finished researching it. It’s so fun to do research. I love that part.

Also, I’m going to put August’s games on my rental list. I can’t wait to see what’s coming out. I know there are a lot of interesting titles as we get closer to the holiday season. I’ll blog on that later as well.

That’s a day. Work ensues. Ugh!

You know that a few years ago, they really did make LEGO shaped Eggo waffles.

I like doing research for my books.

I've heard the research is the fun part. The writing the hard part.

it is hard. And it sort of gets easier and sort of doesn't.

I'm doing this office admin course right now, but I'm thinking about writing. I actually started writing a story in class on a secret google docs window 'cause I was getting bored. It was a western.

cool!  I've always wanted to write a sci-fi western.

Having Edge on a console has to make finding walkthroughs so much easier. I would pause the game, and use the tablet to find out what I was looking for, or have the info for a world already loaded onto the screen.

That must be a lot of fun reading up and researching info about bands the eras they came from. The closest I get are the docs on Showtime.

I used to slide my chair over and open a window on my friend's Mac while gaming. Now I just hit the center button, select Edge, and the page is still there right where I left it, and the game is also the same when I get back to it. I probably could open a window alongside the game screen, but maybe only on actual XBO games and not 360 ones in emulation.

I read the wiki page while I'm converting a vinyl record to digital. I kind of want to get all this ripping done though so I can start practicing again.

I want to start listening to all the hit songs since my birth in 1990. Too bad there won't be as many sea changes during my lifetime in terms of music.

I'm going to get to 1990 probably in about 16 months. Man, these long projects are a little bit weird. That's a long time.
