My plan for BaD is to extend my monthly Time Warped retro game blog to every day of the month. This month's focus is 1980, the 9am of arcade video gaming (the dawn was '78 with Space Invaders). That's not to say I'm sticking to just arcade games, no. I'm also going to play and write about console, PC and pinball games. I'll be playing them through the collections I have on the most recent systems possible. 

In the last few days, I've played a bunch of 1980 releases. It's not hard, they're pretty short. But some are hard and I tried to hit high scores with all of them and spend a little more time doing it. I mean, back in the day, some people were able to play these games for more than 24 hours straight in competition. I can't imagine such tolerance of repetition. It takes a special kind of mind, I think, and it isn't mine.  

If I run out of games, which I might, I'll start covering the other media types I've been researching. Because I want to read some books and comics from 1980, watch some movies and TV shows I love or missed, and listen to music both familiar and new. I've already got a book and comic on load from the library and I'm about to search for music I don't have and rent some films and tv shows. It's going to be fun.
