I've been making a list of games I want to play this year. I write down games coming only a month ahead because release dates are usually solid by then. After that I rate them by how much I want to play them. The highest rated go to my Gamefly que. Two months in and I don't have a five star, or "must-play", game yet, until now.
March has a bunch of games that made my list lower down:
Fear Effect Sedna. Never thought that would get another installation of the series. I remember buying one of the Fear Effect games for the PS1 way back, but I think I never got to playing it.
Burnout Paradise Remastered: Not my favorite Burnout game by far. Actually this is when I stopped playing Burnout. I just couldn't get into the open world version of it. I might try it again though. This would be my third stab at it. Maybe something will click.
Surviving Mars: Seems somebody thinks we are actually going to Mars sometime soon. I kind of doubt it, given the immense cost and technical hurdles, but we can play a video game about it. I played that Kinect Mars Rover game a while ago. I might play this too.
Attack on Titan 2: A definite maybe. I like some wild button mashing hack 'n' slash games like Fist of the North Star or Anarchy Reigns. I hear it's based on an anime. Never seen it.
Sea of Thieves: This is nearly a must-play for me but I'm just not sure about how strickly muliplayer it will be. Do I actually have to find four or more friends and actually talk to them to sail a ship? I hear you can play single player, you just have a small ship and better run if you see a large one. It's such an intriguing game to me. I just might change my mind and make it "must-play". We'll see as we get closer to launch.
Far Cry 5: It should be a must-play for me, but it comes up just short because Far Cry 3 really annoyed me. A little too much stealth required. But it was good. I will give this game a shot eventually.
Shining Resonance Refrain: I'm always curious about the Shining games ever since I played Shining in the Darkness on Genesis years ago and that other one on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Not a must-play but I'm very interested.
Finally it's the must-play game of March and the first one of the year. I'll tell you about that next blog. . . .
JUST KIDDING. It's Ni No Kuni II: I loved the graphics and promised gameplay of Ni No Kuni. I played 20 hours of it, raising my pets, and roaming the land for random encounters before a boss fight told me I really didn't like the battle system. It was chaotic and I couldn't get my head around it good enough to beat a boss. Well, I'm giving it another shot because I am a huge sucker for great graphics and RPGs in general. I hope to heck it's great.
