Breaking Not Stopped

The breaks are on but the car hasn't stopped. That's how I describe my game buying binge at the moment. I stopped the more recent game purchases but this buy-2-get-1 free sale on last gen stuff at Gamestop still has my soul until the 18th, Saturday. This time I found six games at $4 each, my prefered price range for older stuff. Here's the list and some notes:

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3): Played it back in 2006. Still think it's good. Want to play it again.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3): Played it in 2007. It's graphics knocked me out. So want to revisit it.

Rage (X360): ID and John Carmack's 2010 iteration of the ID Tech engine. I've always wanted to play it but still haven't gotten to it. 3 discs for this game. Wow. Even back compat on Xbox One. Probably just need one of the discs to download the whole game.

LotR: War in the North (X360): Mark and I played this isometric hack 'n' slash co-op in 2011. It was fun but had a glitch at the very end that stopped Mark from getting that last achievement. I still want a sequel or similar game in the LotR universe. Not backwards compatible on Xbox One.

Fable III (X360): 2010's Fable, the last true Fable game. That subsequent XLBA game, Kinect game and card game really don't count at all. It's backward compatible on Xbox One too.

Brutal Legend (X360): Played but didn't finish this 2009 Time Schaffer game. Those RTS sections stopped me cold. Would love to try it again though. Learned about the band Iced Earth. Thanks for that new favorite metal band.

The library grows a little bit more. I made sure all came with their original boxes. No messin' around.

If I could, I'd build this library in a couple of weeks. Probably cost me a grand though.

I will never understand what Schafer was thinking when he made Brutal Legend at least partly an RTS.

It does seem a weird choice. It should have been all action adventure. The RTS could've been done as a different game.
