Minecraft Challenge. Finished Wolfenstein II.

I gave myself a challenge in Minecraft and then finished Wolfenstein II today.

I challenged myself in Minecraft to find the Fortress in the Nether in as short a time as possible. I did it in just under an hour. I saved the world and will go back to it sometime later for the next challenge, which I haven't quite defined yet, but will likely be to find the Stronghold. If that gets done, I'll be set for taking on the Ender Dragon. I've yet to get the achievement for killing it on Xbox One.

Then I finished the campaign in Wolfenstein II. Very enjoyable if brutally gross and full of uncomfortable language. It is so well done though. Voice work and writing is very good, maybe some of the best I've experienced in a game. Gameplay is incredible too. You can run-and-gun it to your hearts content, like I did, but every level is well designed to enable stealth kills. In sneaking around, I almost felt a little bit like Batman from the Arkham games. I'm not good at it, so every level inevitablly became a shootout. That part's fun though.

I'm constantly amazed at the level of detail and fidelity in the graphics. I think they used the Havok engine. It's incredible.

Well, I had to send the game back so I can cancel Gamefly, but I will own this game one day and then I'll tackle the achievements. I can't wait to replay it for the side missions and all the challenges. Maybe I'll rent it from the library. Public libraries in my area are now carrying more video games. I can get them for $1.50 or something like that. I hope it's for 3 weeks but it may be only 1. I have to check.

Well, weekend's over for me. Be back at it middle of next week again, I'm sure.

Making challenges for yourself in games is fun! I recently discovered that there are apparently Sims 3 and 4 challenges out there that others have created, and I think it's the best thing ever! I started to look a few up and try to do them myself.

I have never seen a library carry video games - that is a new one! I have been debating the list of games I want is still so massive is just getting Gamefly or PS Now would be a good way to play through them. But I am a sucker for owning the games...dilemmas!

I'm interested in checking out Sims 4 because it's the first on console.

All my local libraries now carry video games. Some more than others. I like owning games too. I just can't afford to get day-one releases right now.

I have never seen libraries carry games either. That's a good idea, and a feather in the gaming industry's cap for sure.

I just loaned Wolfenstein II from a local library for next week. I couldn't find Ni No Kuni II yet though even though I saw it advertised at the library I work at. I'm going to check if it's on the wall.

The local library doesn't carry games but I think the library next to the local community college (it's a part community library/college library) probably does because they have a nice media dept. I always thought it was funny because I used to hear "why don't you read a book instead of playing those games" and now you can check out the games from your library.

Libraries have started having more entertainment stuff. It's probably to keep their circulation numbers high so they continue to get funding.
