Getting Stuck

I got stuck in so many games today. At least they're off my list for now. Here's a list and how I got stuck, or not in a few cases.

Capcom Arcade Cabinet: Played some 1943: Battle for Midway and noticed the store is no longer active. I wanted to get 1942. Maybe this means they'll roll out a new collection. I can only hope.

Midway Arcade Origins: Played some Gauntlet and remembered how annoying it is. I can barely stay alive on the first screen. It's just terrible. Maybe it's designed for multiplayer. I can see that working much better. Also played some Arch Rivals. NBA Jam before Jam. Super fun and I played a whole four quarter game and lost in the final seconds by one point. BS. AI ramps up in the last moments. Sort of realistic I guess, but still feels unfair.

Rare Replay: Played Gunfright, Slalom, R.C. Pro-Am and Cobra Triangle. Didn't get on with any of those for very long. Then I played Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Art style and theme reminded me strongly of Luigi's Mansion. The melee fighting finally began to fail me after a while. The camera is kind of annoying while fighting, and I couldn't keep my health up in a dance room battle with a hoard of zombies and skeletons. Too frustrating getting surrounded constantly with no dodge move. I liked it up until then though. Too bad, I wanted to finish it. Then I played Conker's Bad Fur Day. Got stuck on the very first area. I got the gargoyle off the bridge but then couldn't figure out how to remove the rock from the entrance on the other side. Totally annoying. I wanted to hear more of the silly dialog and characters. Maybe one day I'll look up a walkthrough. Not now though.

Then I popped in Neir Automata. What's the dilly-o with this game and saves? They say there isn't an auto save and that you'll find out how to do it in game, but I never came across anything at all. I fought up to the area with the dual mining drills and got my butt kicked. They make you start over but it seems like your stats are saved. I did that three times before I gave up. I don't like replaying all the way from the beginning so many times. Ah well, maybe I'll look up that answer someday. Not now though.

Then was Star Wars Republic Commando. Really like this game. Squad FPS works really well. Got deep into the game before a room of super bugs kept killing my team. I couldn't kill them fast enough and eventually stopped. I'll keep this in my collection though. I'll play it again someday.

Finally started some Beyond Good and Evil HD. This is the second or third time I've played it. I haven't beaten it either. I'm hoping I don't run into a glitch like I did the last time. So far though I really like it. I like taking photos for cash and tooling around in the hovercraft.

That's about it. I did download some new Games with Gold games: Super Mega Baseball 2 and Streets of Rage. I also downloaded Golden Axe from Game Pass for tomorrow. I want to play Super Mega Baseball 2 multiplayer but Mark doesn't seem interested. I wonder if I want to keep playing at all if there's never going to be any co-op gaming. I'm seriously thinking of wrapping it all up. If I was just gaming alone, i'd probably sell everything, get Warcraft II to work on my PC via virtual machine and that would be that. Who knows. I'm just disappointed right now.

1943 is one of my favorite shooters to this day.

Rare Replay is one of the only games I want on the Xbox One.  Which is why I don't have one yet.

Mark and I used to play 1943 in the arcades, if you can believe that.

Rare Replay is very cool. So many games in there.

I'm probably going to get Nier and A Hat in Time from the Golden Week sale. I really need to play my copy of BG&E.

That's the first Nier?

No. Automata.

Nier Automata could be cool if I can figure out how to save my progress.

Question is, what do these Access Points look like? I interacted with anything glowing but I didn't see this machine surrounded by a force field. I still think I didn't get far enough to find the first one, but maybe I just overlooked it.

Watched a video. Looks like I gotta beat that two spinning wheels to get to the first one.

I just picked up A Hat in Time and Tales of Berseria from the Golden Week sale. I actually wanted a physical copy of Berseria but couldn't resist the same price.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies is probably the worst game Rare ever made. Rented it the day it came out for my kids and they got bored after half an hour of the same thing over and over again.

I still remember the Official Xbox Magazine review of it for some reason. It was especially bad and funny at the same time.
