The first day was Skylanders Imaginators and the second Rise of the Tomb Raider. Notes to follow.
Skylanders Imaginators: I finished the main story with the following wacky character.
I largely hit the random button on all but the weapon and my basic equipment, which has buffs attached to them.
The game still throws side missions at you, so I was doing a lot of those when I decided to craft my character instead of randomizing it. Here are the results.
I like the exhaust pipe ears. I have the Jazz music, party sound effects, and a one liner that says something like, "No one expects, pure radiance." It's silly, but that's kind of what you do in this game.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: I downloaded this from Game Pass to check out and quickly got hooked on it.
It's really fun to search for stuff, hunt, craft weapon upgrades, and sneak kill enemies. I like the characters and story too. I'm finding every bit of dialog and writing in the game to get more story details.
The 3D platforming stuff works really well. I've been killed so many times in so many different ways: mauled by a bear, bitten by a wolf, fell from everything, shot, burned, and drowned. Her realistic scratches are kind of unnerving.
I also noticed her adjusting her hair and I thought, "You know, I don't think I've adjusted my hair in any game I've ever played before". Likely it's that there's been so few female leads in games and that graphics haven't been able to do good hair until now. It was a small thing, but made me think.
Well, that's a couple of days. I have to make a web site for my class and I think I'll do one that records all the media I consume during the year: Games, Books, Film and Music. That's four pages with possibly reviews and various multimedia thrown in for fun. I'll post a link when it's done.
