I saw Solo on Friday. There was a whole group of cosplayers outside the theater: storm troopers, sandpeople, Chewy, Sabine, and Boba Fett. That sort of set the mood right. Then I finished the campaign in Rise of the Tomb Raider and tried to start some State of Decay 2 but it wasn't finished downloading so I played some Lego Batman. Notes follow.
Solo: I thought it was a pretty good Star Wars movie. I felt Lando was left out a little too much and Han was a little too good natured - just a good kid in a bad situation. But, outstanding visuals and callbacks to other Star Wars films saved it from being totally forgetable. As with Rogue One, a droid stole the show?
Rise of the Tomb Raider: I finished the main campaign finally. What a fantastic game! I'm astounded by the wealth of visual real estate and variety of things you do. It really lends itself well to replays in Exploration mode. Only, Exploration mode seems more like replaying a lot of the battles, and, although well done, I didn't enjoy as much because you are basically underpowered and have to stealth your way around. Although, I tried hard to use my bow with poison, blast and fire effects as much as possible. I nearly forgot about my guns in the final set of fights. It was a lot of stealth kills, executions and bow shots for me.I'm not replaying levels right now, but maybe someday. I'd like to play the previous game in the series for sure.
State of Decay 2: Podcast Unlocked told me you could play this solo or in co-op and that it was more tactical in nature, so I downloaded it from Game Pass. I read through all the slide shows for the story and gameplay while it tried to finish up the download but it didn't make it and I switched to something else from Game Pass.
Lego Batman: I just played a half hour or so but it's totally cool. I returned to the Batcave to make sure all the Bat-vehicles were there, and they were. I'll go back to trying State of Decay 2 though next time.
That's a few days worth.
