Three Games on Memorial Day

I played three games after the memorial day parade, which I went to for the first time in a long while. Notes follow.

Lego Batman: Got this off Game Pass and got stuck in Arkham Asylum. HA! Yea, I was playing as Clayface and the Riddler and I couldn't get out. I missed something but it baffled me, so I quit for now.

Halo Wars 2: I jumped back in and it seems they fixed the glitch that locked me out of half the campaign achievements last time I played it. I got six of them without doing anything. Then I played a level and then Skirmish mode where I racked up a few more achievements. I didn't battle online opponents because I struggle even against the A.I. . In RTS games, I often take my own sweet time assembling an army and deploying it methodically. All along the way I'm harassed by the hyper active A.I.. I find it really frustrating when your own units won't hold a position and automatically engage the enemy. I like formations and for the units to stay that way. I was having fun setting up a row of tanks with artilery behind them and one Spartan who would go out and capture enemy armor. This is not the way to win RTS games though. It's too slow, but I hate that frantic switching from building to fighting that you must do. So I just quit after the battle went on and on and my forces inevitablly got overwelmed by an A.I. that developed equipment faster than me.

Skylanders Imaginators: I returned to this and created a life force crossbow weilding character. I gave it a silly high pitched munchkin voice that makes me laugh every time it says something. I'm also emphasizing speed in its equipment. I want to see how fast the figure can run around the field.

I've got the Gryphon Observatory on the portal and ready to explore. I'm still doing mop up missions and opening elemental levels though.

I'm thinking of stopping Game Pass for a while because I've now got too much on my plate and I want to finish the physical games I have first.

I also got the free month of Netflix so I can watch season 2 of Skylanders Academy. I watched the first episode and it was fine. It's a kids show but has great production and voice work. I enjoy it.

I’m looking at grabbing Imaginators. The starter kit is $25 at Wally World.

Oh cool. I asked a Gamestop employee if Imaginators were going on sale sometime soon and he suggested they might. I want in on some more figures. I especially want the Xmas Chompy Mage one. Maybe hard to find though.

I didn't know there's a season 2 of the Skylanders cartoon out.  I didn't think they'd make more than that.

Yep. Last December it came out, Netflix exclusive. I wonder if a third will happen this year. My instinct says no, but I don't know what the actual numbers are on it. Are lots of people watching it and wishing there was a new Skylanders game?

Also, there's the Spryo Trilogy coming at the end of the summer. I want that. Suggests more related interest in the characters, I think.

it's hard to play RTS against the computer. They're good at it.

I just like setting up formations. If they'd just leave me be a little bit longer, I could get it done.

Original Lego Batman was a lot of fun and it didn't invlove the voice acting that all the games now have. Usually if you run into a wall, just step away clear your head and when you go back it'll be a breeze.

I'll try it again sometime.
