I've been busy doing HTML5/CSS/Javascript coding for class but I managed to find some time to play. I downloaded Disneyland Adventures from Game Pass because I liked what little I played on the Kinect version of the game. Now I'm hooked.
Disneyland Adventures was a Kinect game but now is also for controllers, thanks for that. No one wants to wave their arms around for a much content as is in this game. I've discovered it's quite a lot of content.
The game is an exact open world model of the real Disneyland Adventures, or so I'm told. You run around as a kid and talk to the Disney characters and they give you quests to go on. Most of the time it's search for this, take a picture of that, but sometimes you have to enter an attraction and play a two to four part adventure. Those are mostly on-rails shooters, or 3D versions of runner games (skii down a sloap, ride the rapids, ride the rails) or shoot 'em ups, or rhythm games. They are actually pretty good and I've had fun perfecting them.
I've also been running all over the park finding collectables galore. They make you look at almost every piece of scenery in the game, which is cool, because it's very detailed and interesting.
There are also rides which don't do much.
I've finished every adventure from every character in the game. I'm on mop up duty with achievements now. I've got to get all the autographs and pictures. There are also a few attractions not attached to quests I haven't done yet.
I hooked up my SNES and got it working to play the Donkey Kong Country games. All three of them. I'll probably do those next as part of my June '90-'94 retro fest.
