              BattlestationsMidwayX360Raw

I picked up another game for my backlog, Battlestations: Midway. In this game you can control whole fleets of ships, subs and planes or jump into one unit and take a more active role in the battle. I vaguely remember playing the demo for this back in 2007 but I never picked it up.

What I love best about WWII games are the pin-ups... I mean airplanes. I've tried a bunch of games with them like the Blazing Angels series but most are too much of a simulation to be fun for me. I'm looking for a WWII flight combat game that has controls like Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge - specifically the control that enables you to turn around quickly in the air with an impossibly tight roll and loop manuever. Having to turn in a wide arc like a real plane is no fun at all. So I hope this game has easy arcade style flight controls for the planes. If not, I'll stick to the ships and subs.

I've played about ten hours of Enchanted Arms so far this weekend. I'm fighting with a combination of Atsume, two characters and one Golem. I've figured out how to raise my character's raw abilities and how to synthesize Golems, armor and weapons. You can do all this at any time between battles and save your game as well. You can swim and grapple at certain select spots in the world to get past water and over pits but there's not a whole lot of exploration to be done. In a way, that's good, because I don't want to feel like I have to comb every inch of the world for hidden chests and such.

I finished the first part of the story. Yokohama was taken over by the Ice Queen, Atsuma lost his friends in the battle (presumably dead but possibly not), and he ended up in London where he met two new characters. I explored London with this new group and then set off to return to Yokohama to find his friends. Random encounters happen all along the way and get slightly harder as you approach the ruins of Yokohama. I was just entering the ice covered rubble when I had to stop for the night.

Battlestations Midway is an awesome strategy game but the pkanes on arcade mode fly very easy the hard part of this game is moving and dealing with everything at one time but it is cool that you can, command a sub or ship or aircraft carrier as you wish and the fact you can put pin up art on your pkanes is a great idea as well, and if you do find you like this game . Battlestations Pacific lets you play both the US or Japan and is a better version of this game.

Cool. I'll be getting Battlestations Pacific sometime in the future.
