Yeah, Zero Mission is way more fun than the original. That game is too damn obtuse.
More VG, Monop and Metroid

I'm going to the Franklin Institute later in August to see their video game show. That museum has a lot of interactive displays so it should be fun. I may go with my mom and my niece and nephew too. I'll take some pics and do a blog on it. But what I did today follows.
Pickups: Driver San Francisco, Top Spin 2-4:
I really liked Links 2004 a little while ago. It was a Microsoft first party sports game and so I wanted to try some others they made back then. I got Top Spin for original Xbox and I want to play it. I have high hopes for it after how good Links was. Then I saw there were three Top Spin sequels for Xbox 360. They are super cheap at Gamestop so I picked them all up all together for under $10. Then a Gamestop salesman convinced me to buy Driver San Francisco for PS3 as well. I think I'll like that. Those devs did one of my favorite games, Destruction Derby 2 on PS, way back when and the way the sales guys described it made me think of a cross between the open world driving in Crackdown and the mayhem of Burnout. A match made in heaven. Hopefully I'll get to my PS3 this month to try it out.
Monopoly Plus: Mark and I both got all the achievements for this today. Monopoly finally plays perfectly smooth and fully online, and lots of people are still playing it. I did a six real person round, and won, and then one with Mark, I won again, and then another with a full complement of AI bots, easy win. I used some custom rules too to speed up the gameplay. Monopoly can take a while to finish.
Metroid Zero Mission: I bounced to my Gamecube's Game Boy Player to play this GBA game. What a fantastic remake of, I think, the first Metroid game. Love the graphics. The music is moodly and great. The gameplay is fun. I like shooting with my platformers. It makes the frustration go away. I love turning into a ball and dropping bombs. You keep getting more equipment as you play that adds new gameplay elements like the freeze ray that creates new platforms when you freeze an enemy. Why isn't there a movie (not Aliens which I know it's based on) of this. It would be like a creepy scifi Tomb Raider. Man that would be good.
